Formatting

Please format your comments the same as everyone else. Otherwise it will quickly become unreadable. Your name should come immediately after everything you wrote. e.g.

I think that turnips should
be considered a fruit. They are tasty and
delicious, it only makes sense. -- ~~~~~

Note that 4 tildes will expand to your name and the date, 3 tildes will expand to just your name. 2 tildes will expand to simply the date.

You can also use one or more colons (:) in front of your paragraph to indent the text. More than one asterisk (*) will indent the bullet.

Why

Here's why I made it this way: Having the questions show up in the TOC might be useful, but it blows the TOC out of proportion. With many items, it becomes simply unuseable. --Tom 20 July 2005 10:42 (CEST)

Would it be appropriate to go through the FAQ and link to pages that explain those sections of the game mechanic in-depth? I used the FAQ to some extent when writing the articles on Taxes and Battle. On the other hand, I'm not sure that it's a good idea to fill the FAQ with links. --Dolohov 22 July 2005 18:08 (CEST)
Some links for important topics would be useful, but not too many. --Tom 24 July 2005 22:18 (CEST)

Added two FAQ's to the Combat section.

Before Tom announced his 5-Step plan, I had begun working on a FAQ for questions that come up often on the mailing list. I've posted two of my FAQ's to the Combat section. --Mark 12 August 2005 00:43 (CEST)

Spanning Continents

Should we add something to the effect of, "Neither Guilds nor any other in-game organization, now or at any time in the future, will be able to span multiple continents"? I've seen various variations on questions like that a lot. --Anaris 6 February 2006 19:28 (CET)

Recruitable?

I noticed on several scouting reports for cities other than the capital it says "Troops recruitable from this region" and then a list of troops. What does that mean? If we can only recruit troops at the capital, then who are these guys recruitable by? Regional commanders who want to form militias? If someone abandons their troops in a capital, can those be recruited by other troop leaders? Thanks. --F1r3br4nd 22 February 2006 01:00 (CET)

More Questions

Here's some questions I had recently and couldn't find the answers in the Wiki. When I have the time I'll figure out whether this means that some pages need to be improved, more pages need to be written, or something put in the FAQ, but in the meantime so I don't lose them I'll put them here. If anyone else would like to find a home for these, you are welcome to it.

  • How can I transfer Gold to another player?
I think the answer to this may be in the Wiki in bits and pieces but nowhere is the whole process laid out.
  • What can I do while wounded or captured? What happens to my troops?

  • What do the various values of status on the TL report mean? Specifically return is cryptic.
