==The Commander's Introduction==

Still a little green around the edges as a single coherent group, this book is a collection of regulations that the Mounted Knights observe. We're still setting up rules and recruiting members, so join up while it's still new and gain a custom title. Being part of the Rider's is an honour, not a duty, and if you feel under pressure or unwelcome, you are quite welcome to leave at any time. We're all brothers and sisters on horseback, and I personally want you to feel like one.

Within Rowan's Riders, each and every rider is allowed a personal custom title, though the Commander's title remains the same. The rank of Commander in the Mounted Knights grants the honorary title of Knight Templar, the second in command the rank of Knight Lieutenant, and the third the rank of Lieutenant. With the King's blessing, perhaps after the Mounted Knights show their ferocity in battle, the three commanding officers may bear their titles as their official ones.

Finally, as with any elite group, we have a banner to distinguish us from the rest of the run-of-the-mill soldiers. Ours stands for the distinguished pride we hold as Ithilians and we carry it and bear it proudly. Soon enough, the entirety of Atamara will know and respect our banner: =]V[][=

==Battle Readiness==

Every Elite group has a standard to bear in mind. Ours is to be be about quality, not quantity, to value troop strength and cohesion over troop numbers. Cavalry are valuble, both on the battlefield and in the literal sense of the word. They are expensive to hire and more costly to maintain than normal troops. That is why our normal goal is so narrow. One Division or One Full Division at or above 500 Combat Strength has been proven to last longer, fight harder, and suffer less casualties. At times, we will come across an opportunity to raid enemy lands, and then perhaps one could set their new goal to a Battalion or even a Legion of Cavalry! Other times, we may be hard-pressed at the front-lines and needed quickly. In that case, our new goal would be to recruit and get to the field, sometimes with less troops than we would like.

Foreword

Welcome everyone to the collection of ideas and regulations behind the elite Cavalry group belonging to Minas Ithil, the home of heroes. In honor of this Elite Group's first volunteering commander, the group originally took and still bears the official name "Rowan's Riders",
more formally referred to as the Mounted Knights of Minas Ithil.

Summary of the Knight's

Mounted Knight's Motto

As an Elite Group, Rowan's Riders isn't about minimums and bare-bones troops. Each Mounted Knight should take careful care and consideration into putting together their force, their men, their show of strength and prowess on the battlefield. This isn't always possible, no, but it should always be strived for and should always be on the mind of each Mounted Knight.

~Combat Strength of 500 or more! ~1000 or more Hits on the Charge! ~One Division or One Full Division
