Preparing for Battle

Every Elite group has a standard to bear in mind. Ours is to be be about quality, not quantity, to value troop strength, cohesion, and weapon quality over troop numbers. Cavalry are valuble, both on the battlefield and in the literal sense of the word. They are expensive to hire and more costly to maintain than normal troops. That is why our normal goal is so narrow. One Division of Cavalry at around 500 Combat Strength or One Full Division of Cavalry around 600 has been proven to last longer, fight harder, and suffer less casualties. At times, we will come across an opportunity to raid enemy lands, in which case our new goal might become training a Battalion or even an entire Legion of Cavalry and charging into combat! Under rare circumstances, on the other hand, we may be hard-pressed at the front-lines and needed quickly. In that case, our new goal would be to recruit and get to the field, sometimes without being able to properly train our new recruits, hoping that their training and cohesion will be forged in battle instead of spending precious time training. Last but not least, we also have to keep in mind the exaggerated effect that equipment quality has on the outcome of our troops performance in battle- most importantly on the number of charge hits- but also on normal hits that Cavalry deliver and on how many less casualties any given unit will suffer from the enemies hits.
