The Northern tip of the peninsula has historically been known as an isolated outland, far from the city of Perdan. A small fishing community existed in the area known as Chaosia, but since the eruption of the Volcano Islands it was renamed to North Haven. Home to smugglers, thieves, and pirates, the town is host to a criminal underworld that links the Obsidian Isles to civilisation.

History

Originally a fishing village known as Chaosia, after the eruption of the Volcano Islands around the Kalmar Bay, the sleepy fishing village was transformed into a major waystation for goods and people travelling to these new lands. Since, it has been home to smugglers and criminals dancing on the literal borders of Perdanese society, flitting between Venas and Perdan Mines, though since 1019 and the fall of the Obsidian Islands, the port town has seen more than a handful of pirate ships drop anchor on the peninsula for resupply.

Government

Under administration by Rogos V'Orlan, the region is mostly self-governing. The only stipulation of this unexpected liberty is the lighthouse is maintained and shipping is never impeded, under pain of death.

Defences

Religion

The Shadows hold a minority of believers, but mostly folks hold pagan spiritual beliefs, despite the dominance of Trinitism to the South, the people of North Haven are surly towards religions that might upset the tenuous spiritual anchors that keep the community together.
