Olik Family/Duthenir

Duthenir Olik was born and raised as a commoner, and it was revealed to him by his farmer father's dying words that he was not really born of him, but of the rape of his mother by Gauihu the Mad King of Abington (before he had become the mad king) during one of the many wars in southeast Atamara. Once he discovered this, he felt alienated and set out to the Far East, ostensibly to get as far away from the mess as possible, but found he could not escape his true heritage. Initially very naive in his dealings with the other nobles of Arcaea, he tried to "do good" with a short stint as a trader after he saw battle for the first time (as a noble, that was). Failing at this and jaded, he began to spend more time at the Academy in Remton, and quietly, one day he vowed to kill the man he now knew was his father.
