Galahad Ambrosius currently serves under the flag of Toren in the war-torn South East Islands. His liege is Duke Cyperus Sarracenia. He is 19 yrs of age.

Similar in appearance to Ambrosius Mortis, he is sometimes mistaked for him, but the bloodlust in his eyes reveals that he is not the gentler Patriarch. Annoyed by the resemblance, he wears his hair to shoulder length to distinguish himself from the Patriarch. To further emphasize the difference, he uses the argent longsword Mateus, rather than a greatsword.

He chose to travel to the war ravaged South Easterlies to gain honour as is recquired by the First Reunion, and to whet his appetite for blood. His departure was not known to others of his family, preferring to be known by himself, and not by the name of his family.

History of the Longsword Mateus

The Mateus was forged using a mixture of Wootz and Wotz, by a blacksmith lost to antiquity, whose process coloured the sword bluish. It's strength and sharpness is variable, depending on the desire for blood of the weilder, perhaps an effect of the strange combination of materials used.

The sword has passed many hands, sometimes in the hands of Heroes long forgotten, once as Dull and Brittle as a rusted sword when it was kept as an ornament by a peasant.

Galahad acquired possession of the blade from the sword from the said peasant, who having nothing to pay him after saving his life gave him his prized ornamental sword. With this change of master, the sword was renewed, in strength and sharpness, to the surprise of Galahad and the peasant. When the latter tried to take it again, first by words, then by force, he was slain, and the sword was keener than before.
