By sending and receiving messages you can communicate with the players and characters in the game.
The system is used as described below.

Writing Messages

By clicking on the write messages link you will access the page where you can write all your messages.
This page is divided just like your read page, with the same categories and tabs.
The categories and tabs are:

Hierarchy
Realm (here you can send messages to all nobles of your realm, the diplomatic circles of your realm(the ruler and all diplomats), all dukes of your realm or all lords of your realm)
Council (write messages to the members of the government of your realm)

Organisations
(Write messages to the guilds, societies or religion you are a part of)

Location
(write local messages, to for example the lord or all allies of the region you are in)

Global
Here you can write messages to global channels, channels who everyone can access on the continent you play in.
Global Mentoring Channel of your continent (From here you can ask for or offer help about the game by using the mentoring channel)
All Rulers of your continent (contact all rulers of your continent)

Personal
Conversations (if you want to write messages to individual characters or a custom group of characters you can start a new channel for that)
Notes (Write messages to your self)

You can also write messages by clicking on reply to channel when reading your received messages.
You can reply to all received messages from any channel.

Reading Messages

By clicking on the Read messages link you will access the page where you can read all your messages.
Per standard it will show your unread messages first, shown selected by highlighting its tab.
You can click on the various tabs on the top to apply a different filter.
Which are the same categories as listed above.

Channels

Channels are groups of recipients, either standard or set up by other players.
An example of a standard channel is the ruler channel where all rulers can send and receive messages from the same channel/circle of communication.
A custom channel(conversations) can include any other character in your contact list, and is started by creating new conversations at your write message page under the tab personal.
You could create a channel for your allies or friends or even enemies.
Your contact list includes anyone that is either part of a standard channel or from which you received or sent a message to.
