'''Roleplay from Sorsha McDowell'''

Sorsha covered her yawn and walked down the hallway. She entered her study and walked to the large window. She smiled, admiring the view of Nebel. She absolutely loved being here, and her body felt a sense of peace.

The last week had been quiet. Mostly she had kept to herself, and taken the time to recuperate from her sickness. It had not been horrible, but now it was completely gone and she could finally breathe.

Behind her, Lorlan knocked lightly and entered. She looked over her shoulder to see him enter with a stack of letters. Well it had been peaceful for a small amount of time. He put the tray on her desk and bowed. Before he could leave, she called to him, “Lorlan, I will have some bread… and cheese.”

“Right away my Lady,” he smiled at the request, she had barely eaten in days and it was starting to show. “I will have some tea.”

He left the room and she took a last look out the window and sighed. She walked to the desk and picked up her reports. She wrote some notes on them and moved them aside to be taken up again later. She wrote a letter of her own, and set it on the tray to be sent.

It took her a few minutes, but the stack of letters got smaller until only one letter was left. She frowned when she noticed the official seal on it and gingerly picked it up, no one used this seal... ever. It was a family secret.

She held her breath and broke the seal, opening the letter. She began to read it and her body turned cold. Suddenly she couldn’t remember how to breathe. There was another letter inside, and she pulled it out with disbelief. “Sorsha,” was scrawled on the front, with long flowing letters, she knew as her cousin’s.

Lorlan walked in with her food and set it beside her. “Will you need anything else?” he asked her and she looked up from the letter, her blue eyes pooled with tears.  “What’s wrong?” he asked seeing the devastated look on her face and she reached up to wipe her tears.

“Kaylan….” she whispered her cousin’s name. “She’s …” Sorsha swallowed but the lump in her throat blocked any other sound from coming forth.

Unable to say anything else, she waved Lorlan out of the room. He gracefully left, leaving her to her grief and she tried to breathe again, but her chest was on fire. She opened her cousin’s letter and tried to read through the tears obscuring her vision.

She couldn’t even finish reading her cousin’s last words to her and fell to her knees with a wail of anguish. Kaylan had taken her own life. She crumpled the page between her fingers and balled up on the ground, sobbing.

She had been as a sister to her… and now she was gone.
