Silmeriel was feeling better already and had recovered her full movements, so she decided that her "healer" skills could be put to good use, a kind Arcaean guard of another troop probably in love with her had managed to retrieve her bag from the corpses of her slain guard.

From it she found enough reagents to prepare a decent potion which would help the others heal their wounds faster, it didn't taste nice and looked horrible but she did her best to make it better without diluting the potion too much.

She then left walking around the camp of the retreating soldiers, and decided to visit Deianarah first, with a smile she already knew where she was and quickly arrived at Thain's camp

"Guard, tell your Lord I am here and that I wish to see him and Lady Deianarah"

The Guard made haste to inform Thain as she was already moving towards the man's tent

Thain sat, caring for his sword, when one of his guards poked his head in the tent.

"Sire, Lady Silmeriel is here to see you and Lady Deianarah."

Thain looked up, and nodded slowly.

"Send her in. And start dinner. Something light please."

And he returned to tending to his blade. It had been his father's once, claimed from the depths of a temple deep in the mountains of Razrpot. The same temple he had been raised and trained in. He sighed. He wished his father was here, he would enjoy bringing the fight to Soliferum, the one last crusade to restore justice to the Far East... Or Actually East, as his father had called it.

Silmeriel entered the place more distracted with her surroundings than ever, her eyes turning to each little piece of the tent as she passed through it, but as people were already commenting her mind was always far more concentrated than her body or so it seemed, and after she finally finished her strange "search" she sat on a chair and watched Thain, finally speaking in her sweet calm voice

"The depths of the mountains hold many mysteries don't they?" said the woman casually pointing to the sword, it was a statement not a question though and Thain was certain of that

She then made a brief pause and proceeded

"The depths of the forests hold more than enough secrets too, forgotten ruins, ancient artifacts, gates to other places" she the smiled and awaited a reply patiently

Thain quirked a brow at her words, and looked at her then the sword. Had he been thinking out loud? No, he was sure of it.... Odd. He regarded the stranger warily, then stood and bowed slightly.

"Thain Himoura at your service. I don't believe we've met before..."

Her smile grew with his reaction but she stood up and dropped a curtsy when he spoke, and then replied amused .

"Not officialy Lord Himoura, we just saw each other once at the ball, I am Silmeriel Orgauth, or as the peasants like to call me around the North "the Witch of the Woods", some like to think I am a fairy or an elf too, I have been told there's something strange about me...what do you think Sir Thain ?"

Now that she asked for him to examine her Thain could not only notice her wondrous beauty that she was famous for, but also the equally renowned "strange aura" she had around her, he felt as if there was something uncommon about her something definitely unnatural, it was a strange sensation that awed and disturbed him in equal measure.

'''Roleplay from Deianarah McDowell'''

It had been some time since Deianarah had fallen asleep but the soothing sounds that had brought her there had stopped. She still lay in his bed, but she could hear Thain and another woman’s voice, one she had never heard before and she opened her eyes curiously. They didn’t seem to notice her presence at all, they were preoccupied with their conversation.

She didn’t say anything, but quietly listened, trying to make sense of it. Her head still hurt something fierce, but the words that filtered through made her stop and think. Who was this woman? And what was she doing with Thain?

"Other than you being able to tell what I'm thinking... No. Perhaps I'm just too easy to read." he grunted, and grabbed up his sword and cleaning items, putting them neatly away.

"She took a bump to the head. She'll be fine, but she's dizzy, prone to fainting, and nauseous. And..."

He paused, looking at her.

"Awake."

Silmeriel's eyes quickly turned toward Deianarah, she was still smiling and seemed even more amused by the fact she was awake, she then turned to Thain once more deciding to reply to him first

"Reading thoughts? Not really, but let us just say I know quite some good bits of obscure lore"

She turned again to Deianarah in fast but swift movements, that made her hair flow strangely and in slow motion and still seemed to float a bit when she spoke in a caring tone.

"Are you alright my dear can you understand me ?"

'''Roleplay from Deianarah McDowell'''

Deianarah gave Thain a small smile as he noticed she was awake, then she turned to the other woman and a small frown dotted her brow. Obscure lore? Then strangely she was in front of her. “My head hurts, but I think I will be fine…” Dei answered and tried to prove it by sitting up but sighed when the nausea and dizziness returned. “Maybe not…” she lay back down.

"Calm down mistress, you took quite a hit and just a day ago I was as bad as you were, but I have something for you lady"

Silmeriel took the bottle from her bag and turned back with the same movement as before, apparently enjoying trying to shock Thain and confuse Deianarah with her hair movement, and she then reached the bed and slowly leaned towards the woman examining her with a smile.

"I made this for you, it will make you feel better and you'll get out of this bed sooner, I am afraid it tastes quite bad but I am more than certain that beautiful and strong woman such as you can easily handle that"

She smiled mischievously.

'''Roleplay from Deianarah McDowell'''

Deianarah couldn’t help but withdraw with some confusion. She did not know this woman, and yet here she was with a solution. She held a bottle before her and Deianarah reached out to take it. She looked up to Thain as if looking for some reassurance but he was watching everything as she did, with some confusion.

A part of her felt like there was no harm in it though and she drank it. The taste was horrendous. She coughed and sputtered, letting out a small wheeze and reached up to wipe her lips.

“Thank you,” she said when she managed to find her voice. Now all she had to do was wait for the effects to kick in. “How long must I wait?” she asked.

Silmeriel smiled once more.

"Ohh I am witch don't you know? I am supposed to know such things" none of the present could say if she was being serious or kidding.

"Let us just say I have my "sources", but these are just details, I am Silmeriel Orgauth and I am immensely pleased to be able to help another young lady like me, as modest as my help is I just couldn't ignore you my dear"

Again it was hard to tell how serious she was about that, but she seemed sincere even if it was clear that Silmeriel was having great fun with the whole situation

'''Roleplay from Deianarah McDowell'''

Had she meant more than the obvious when she said ‘another young lady like me’?

Deianarah gave her a smile again, “Thank you again Lady Silmeriel. Now that I know your name I will not forget you, and I will remember your assistance this day, how can I repay you?”

"Your smile and gratitude are more than enough to make me happy"

And as she said that Deianarah was pretty sure she was somehow flirting with her, Silmeriel almost laughed of the surprised look on her eyes and dropped a curtsy to her, then she turned to Thain in the same usual weird fashion.

"Lord Himoura, I am afraid I really have to go now, I greatly enjoyed seeing and speaking with you this day and I look forward for the next time"

It was Thain now that noticed interest in her speech and the way she looked at him, and once more she almost laughed.

"Farewell to you too my dear Deianarah, your eyes are as beautiful as your mother's, and I am sure you will make your family proud and prove yourself to them, have no doubts that there are no limits for what you can achieve."

She then left the same way she came, smiling and amused with her surroundings...

'''Roleplay from Deianarah McDowell'''

As Silmeriel left, Deianarah felt the strangest sensation. How had she known of her mother? Or the reason why she had left home in the first place… Had she actually been dreaming the entire time? Strange images brought on by her concussion?

She then looked up at Thain, slightly confused at the situation. “What just happened? I don’t mean me sitting here in this bed, but the words she spoke? The way she carried herself, was I the only one who noticed the strangeness that surrounds her? She spoke to you as if... was she flirting with us?” she asked out of turn and almost laughed at how absurd it sounded, but she had seen it, she had felt it. She was very beautiful... Deianarah wondered what Thain thought, and how she was in comparison.

She then paused and looked away, wondering where in the world that thought came from.

Thain looked at Dei and shrugged.

"I'm not sure what to make of it. Let me know if you start feeling funny. I don't trust her... Witch she said. Witchcraft is one of the most vile forms of heresy... Don't let yourself be alone with her. For now, we won't do anything except keep an eye on her. A rather queer individual, she is."

Silmeriel was smiling to herself satisifed

And she spent a good part of that night lying on quiet part of the camp on the grass, watching the stars and the moon apparently lost in her thoughts but her eyes still examined everything around her with interest as she always did

At some random point she spoke to the air picking a green leaf with her left hand, her voice sounded hopeful and amused and she was certain a passing soldier was listening to what she said

"Will they too meet you, mother? I hope so, they are wonderful, I can already see Thain shocked with the court preparing to attack anything too bizarre for him and Dei more than a bit confused but at the same time awed with our halls...so many things both could learn back home"

She then rolled on grass turning to the soldier that was looking at her with a mix of desire and fear

"What about you my dear? Want to see the courts of the Fey too?" Said the woman with a mischievous smile

The man fled in panic, it was one of Thain's men, he couldn't understand how she noticed he was there, and she seemed to be speaking of fairies that could only be unnatural he thought.

As the man left she laughed happily, certain that he would tell everything he heard to his lord the proud Himoura warrior

Rolling back to her initial position she stayed there for most of the night only leaving when the sun was already rising

Deianarah nodded at Thain’s words, the lady had been extremely odd in a surreal way. She was not feeling ill, she was actually beginning to feel better in fact. “I am… feeling somewhat better,” she admitted and then looked down to her hands. She couldn’t help herself, she had to ask. “She was very odd, but beautiful did you not think?”

Thain shrugged.

"Heresy often dons an alluring facade to conceal its ugly and corrupt intentions." Thain said, before going to get his sword and cleaning things back out. He sat down and began to work on it again.

"Dinner should be ready soon. It's good you're feeling better. I'll keep you here for the night, can't have you moving around. I don't want you collapsing again."

Deianarah turned away at his answer, it had not been what she had expected at all, but Thain couldn’t very well read her mind, now could he. She didn’t dare be any more persistent on the matter and appear awkwardly forward, therefore she kept any more questions to herself.

She wasn’t really hungry, the thought of food made her sink lower into the bed and she closed her eyes. Then he mentioned keeping her there for the night and they popped open as she realized with a strangled expression she was in fact keeping his bed from him.

“But… but where will you sleep my Lord? I could not take your bed from you...” her cheeks reddened and she started to scramble out of it with haste. She couldn’t very well make him sleep elsewhere, it was his bed. He would eventually need to get some sleep too.

She was sure if she got up and walked a little she would be well in no time. She then tried to remove the covers, but her legs seemed to refuse to listen and she practically tripped over them and stumbled out. Then she straightened as if trying to pretend it didn’t happen and she smiled but it slipped quickly as the tent shifted and she put her hand out to steady herself.

Deiararah was having no luck but she grit her teeth with effort, maybe she needed just a bit more time before whatever concoction Silmeriel gave her fully kicked in. “See?” she said softly. “I will be fine, I just need to walk it off,” she told him stubbornly. “I should not have burdened you in the first place.”

Two messengers arrived at Thain's tent, both were using a strange golden symbol that looked like a extremely complex rune or something like that, it was the symbol Silmeriel used

Strangely both were two little girls, and female children were never used as messengers, that alone already made the two inside the tent know who sent them, the shocked guards didn't even react as they entered the tent

The first a short fat blonde little girl, cute, and around her 7 years, slowly approached Thain and spoke in a humble and innocent tone

"My lord, the lady told me to give this to you" she bowed offering the shocked man a letter and an old iron plate with the Himoura family crest on it, it was different and looked ancient but was still recognizable

In the letter the following words were written in Silmeriel's magnificent writing full of delicate and stylish curves

Dear Thain

I'd like to present you with a little gift, something my family found some years ago but that actually belongs to you I believe

This I am certain is an ancient plate of a long gone member of your family, perhaps an ancestor of yours or of another branch of the Himoura, but since we have now met I believe I should give it to you

My father found it on a expedition to a group of ruins on the mountains near Ipsosez and believed it dated from the founding days of Svunnetland

Its very well crafted and somehow resisted all damage normally caused by time, it also resist any attempts to be used by anyone...that is until now, studying it I came to believe it can only be used by a member of your family

Enjoy it! I am pretty certain there's something magical about it too, but I believe you may only discover the full extent of its power on the battlefield

On an entirely different matter though I would like to invite you and Dei to a dinner in my home in Remton when we get there, it easy to find it all peasants know where the "witch" lives

Silly peasants

(note the messengers are peasant orphans from the woods I took under my care, please give something to them in return for their services, though I pay them well they still have the habit of begging and I don't want them doing that, it can be dangerous

The other girl was the opposite of the one who approached Thain, tall, thin with dark blonde hair which resembled Deianarah's own, she approached the woman naturally and seemed more confident than the other.

"My lady" she bowed

"Dame Silmeriel sent me with a letter and gift, and I don't know what she meant with that instead of one gift it could actually be two if followed her advice"

The first gift was a delicate, frail and very beautiful small diadem in silver with green runes

And the following was written on the letter, with Silmeriel's wonderful calligraphy

Dear Dei

I hope we can be friends, there's much we could talk about, this diadem was given to me by my mother when I was but a child, it means a lot to me but she covered with such gifts through my whole life and still does so I don't really need it.

It's one of my favorite though and it shines brightly on nights with full moons, but I believe it to be beautiful enough to be useable anytime you wish.

Sorsha and Alec would be delighted to see you wearing it on a beautiful night with a silken white dress, or even on the battlefield where your strength shows itself.

There's much we need to talk about my dear, and your family is just one of the many things we can talk about, a fascinating family mind you, but you're still my favorite, so meet me at my home in Remton the next time when we get there, Thain has been called too, finding it will be easy any peasant there know where I live and they generally avoid with foolish superstition, silly peasants

Ohh and if you so want take the sweet girl in front of you as an aide or something like that, her name's Diana and she's orphan I took under my care, I pay her well but I don't have many services for her lately and I don't want to see her begging around the streets again.

Cheers

Silmeriel

Thain clamped a firm hand on her shoulder.

"Don't be silly. You won't make it far, and a head injury is never to be taken lightly. I've got a bedroll, you go back and rest."

Thain stopped as Silmeriel's messengers arrived, and he read the letter with a puzzled expression.

"It can't be..."

He examined the plate and turned.

"Wait here." he said to Dei.

He strode over to his master of arms, and handed him the plate.

"I expect to see it attached to my armor by dawn."

And he turned and walked back to Dei.

"My lady, I must insist. You cannot be up and walking around like this."

'''Roleplay from Deianarah McDowell'''

It was a good thing Thain’s hand was on her shoulder or she was liable to fall over. She was about to protest to her staying again when she saw the two little girls enter the tent and they both turned simultaneously to look at the children before them.

Thain took his letter, and read it quietly while Deianarah examined the young child and then was given a beautiful Diadem. Her light brown eyes admired it and her fingers traced the delicate runes on it. It was beautiful and something she did not deserve, she was about to tell the little girl so when she received a letter of her own. She took it slowly and opened it.

Her brow furrowed lightly at the words and she looked up as Thain left it didn’t take him very long and he returned, when he did she had already finished reading the letter.

She was shocked, but pleased. “My lord,” she started unable to conceal the awe in her voice. “Silmeriel speaks of my sister Sorsha and brother Alec as if she knows them… Although she favors me?” she didn’t know why she asked him, she just needed to say it outloud, it was just too odd. “She speaks of my family with familiarity… Iontach…” she whispered in Gaelic and raised the Diadem to her head, and tried it on. It was very light and delicate. “She speaks of this as if it would have some hidden ability… I will need to ask her.”

She then looked down at the small child. “Diana, you will stay with me from now on. I will take care of you. For your first task I wish for you to get you and your friend some food from the soldiers outside.”

The little girl did as she asked and they were both gone. Deianarah then sat back on the bed and reached up to take the Diadem out of her hair and set it on the small table beside her. “I feel awful that I should take your bed from you My Lord, but you are right, I am in no condition to leave. She then lay back down on her side and watched him. “I will be gone as quickly as I can, I promise. Then we will meet again in Remton if you would accompany me to Silmeriel’s. I do not wish to arrive alone. She seems to know too much about us and I find it disconcerting.”
