'''Roleplay from Deianarah McDowell'''

The battle didn’t come as a surprise, they had known it would happen but the magnitude of it was jarring. Deianarah fought as much as she could, swinging her sword with expertise, slicing through what she could, simply trying to defend from the attack. No matter how hard she fought though, eventually they were pushed back and she glanced quickly over her shoulder to see Alec fighting not far off.

He fought with ease, cutting through his enemies with minimal effort. She had always admired his skill with a blade. He was shouting out orders to him men to change position, but no matter how quickly he gave them, his men seemed to die before anything could be done. “Fall back!” he then raged his voice holding incredible command, his expression frightening, and his eyes dark. In that one moment, Deianarah could truly see the Marshal and Executioner of the Netherworld and she swallowed. She was so glad to have him on their side, they needed him. Deianarah nodded in her brother’s direction and she turned to her other side, in time to see Thain fall. “THAIN!!” she yelled frantically and rushed to his side.

Alec fought his way towards her, and found Deianarah cradling Thain’s body and fighting off the next assailant and he thrust his sword through him and kicked him off his blade. “Help me!” she said panicked and tried to pick Thain up, but he was too much weight for her and she faltered. Trying again she looked up at Alec with a pleading gaze and he moved her aside. He quickly picked up the King over his back and gave Dei a nod. “Clear a path for me, baby sister,” he urged and she nodded, her eyes heated and determined.

They managed to bring Thain back, but along the way, they could see many had fallen. Too many had been wounded and were also being brought back within the walls of the Palace.

Alec was relieved of the King’s weight when several men picked him up and carried him away. “Stay with him Dei, I’ll see what I can do from here.” Deianarah nodded, her eyes filled with tears and she ran off to be with Thain. Before she did anything, she would make sure he would be fine.

'''Roleplay from Isabel Moreira'''

Isabel rested inside the palace's walls now. Her clothes were bloody but she wasn't injured seriously. The battle was finished and she had lost almost half of her unit. She took her gloves and then her armour and sat down. Her hands were shaking a bit. She had seen so much atrocity in the Netherworld the last thing she needed now was to be killing people, facing gore and mayhem so soon. But her new realm needed her and her unit, and if there was one thing she could be accused of was being loyal, to her beliefs, to those who trusted her...

Immediately she thought of Alec, was he alright? She had seen him in battle but they were too far apart for her to notice if he had been injured.

She got up and tried to find him. She saw him carrying the King and walked up to him as Lady Deianarah followed the men who were taking him to the healers.

"Are you alright?" she asked while taking a good look at him making sure he wasn't concealing any injury.

Alec watched Dei leave, and sighed, passing his hand through his dark blond hair making the ends spike up. When he turned he was face to face with Isabel. He didn’t even say anything and he picked her up off the floor into her arms. During the battle, he had watched her from a distance, she had been fine, but his attention had been called elsewhere. He still felt the rush of the blood lust in his veins, but she seemed to dim it with her presence. “I’m fine now that you’re here. Are you alright?” he asked her and put some distance between so she he could see her completely. No matter what happened, she had always found a way to get injured one way or another and he breathed easier when he realized she was perfectly fine.

'''Roleplay from Nihilus Orgauth'''

Nihilus frowned, this was not what he had expected, the Soliferites had arrived in far greater strength then expected, as soon as the attack began he was plagued by the images of the first siege of Masahakon.

Nighthelm had been victorious that time, but the 2nd siege was too much...Azros has defended itself before, but now it would fall as Masahakon did.

And this time he was there to see it, he knew he would now see Nighthelm fall right before his eyes. But he fought back, and cried as soon as the first siege engine reached the walls.

"Charge my brethren! Show them your steel, let the dishonorable scum taste their own poison! Many of us may die here tonight but we die like true sea wolves! The enemy will die like the dogs they are!"

But their "charge" was most unusual, Nihilus had been with the same unit since he disembarked on Arcaea. They were pirates, who served with him for years on the seas.

They were light, fast, and deadly with their rapiers, none of them even came close to Nihilus skills. He approached the enemy with great speed in his natural "flamboyant" style.

A rapier in each hand, the two twins moving furiously and searching for weak points in the enemy's armor and throwing themselves at each and every one they found, as if hungry for the blood they would taste.

His long black hair flowing wildly with each movement, more and more soldiers in orange and gold advancing on the walls and slowly repelling the dark purple mass that once controlled the walls.

He and his men were surrounded, troops were already fighting on the streets and they were still stuck in the walls, Nihilus was covered in sweat surrounded by many wounded soldiers.

He then gave order...

"Albrecht, blow it up! We'll use the ropes!"

With one big sound of explosion that sounded terrible only to those nearby that small sector of the walls was covered in smoke. Nihilus and his men then used ropes to get down and run for the palace.

The sound of armored feet following them was everything they could hear now, the other cries of help were too distant. Bolts and arrows crossing the air on all direction around them. But they kept running each step more desperate than the other before.

Nihilus looked left and right for a moment. Albrecht the oldest pirate serving him was now dead.An arrow going through his cheek and coming out of his head, but he couldn't stop to mourn the fallen warrior and felt terribly sad for this.

Most of the crew that he spent some many years together and that helped him change for better was now dead...

In the distance he saw his beautiful cousin Silmeriel, she was indeed a warrior princess, though beautiful beyond words she was fierce and deadly. In a green leather armor and cloak, with a great two-handed sword. Cutting down all those who dared to approach the palace while the others made it inside.

"Sil! Get inside dammit! I'll hold them for a while!"

She hesistated for a moment but she knew he wouldn't give up and hurried up inside to look for Deinarah.

Arriving near the gates of the palace with what remained of his men Nihilus cried in his strong majestic voice, so commonly heard about in bard's songs. But he was exhausted and that much was clear.

"We shall stand here men! If someone else is to die it will be us! Let them come, the palace is still ours, if they want the King and then let they get him! But be warned dogs of Sol! Many of you will die before you can lay your dirty hands on him!"

And there he and his men stood for the rest of the night...

'''Roleplay from Silmeriel Orgauth'''

Silmeriel rushed inside, her armor covered in blood that of enemies and her own, a huge cut crossed her face. She had also apparently lost part of her left ear which was bleeding profusely.

Hurrying up and ignoring the wounds she arrived inside the palace and there she stumbled on Alec in her haste. She fell to the floor but immediately rose up and asked in her sweet voice that now sounded so desperate.

"Where's Dei? Is she fine? Is she alright ?...and the King? is he fine?" though she did her best she was obviously more concerned with Deianarah, and didn't even notice the woman nearby.

Alec turned from Isabel to see a new woman, her entire neck was covered in blood. He frowned and then blinked at her question, she was frantic over Dei’s wellbeing. “Yes Dei is fine, she is with the King at the moment, he unfortunately has not been so lucky,” he informed her.

Sil paused for a moment as if suddenly noticing the wound in her ear, she placed her hand over it and wave of pain made her tremble briefly. But she kept silent and just looked at his eyes and said in a more calm tone.

"I am fine, I can deal with it, I have to help the king, Dei would...I am going now" then she left running to a chamber where she had left her things before the battle.

With the help of a servant she gathered many herbs and potions and left off to the royal chambers, once she arrived she dropped at Dei's feet and said.

"I...I heard the King's wounded, and I...came to help as soon as I could"

Though her ear wasn't bleeding anymore the wound still looked horrible.

'''Roleplay from Deianarah McDowell'''

Thain was lying in the bed, with his physician hovering over him, and servants to assist with whatever was needed to help. They removed his armor, clothes beneath and threw the garments on the floor where a servant was quick to pick it up, but Dei’s eyes grew round at the sight. Water was brought in, and they began to clean the blood off, but Deianarah buried her face in her hands looking away, she couldn’t bear to watch anymore and whimpered.

She bit her lip and was about to leave the room when Silmeriel seemed to materialize before her and kneeled to the ground. Deianarah was startled and stopped walking.

Silmeriel was also covered in blood and Dei gasped at the sight of her. “Silmeriel, you’re hurt,” she stated and frowned. “The King is being cared for, I believe you are the one in need of assistance,” Dei said reaching out for her, only then realizing, her hands were caked with dried blood.

She wasn’t in any better shape either. Her body hurt everywhere, her arms were tender and seemed aflame from the incessant fighting. Her jaw hurt terribly, she couldn’t even recall when but someone did strike her, punching her across the face before she managed to gut him through.  She would have a large and ugly bruise come morning. With Thain wounded, she hadn’t even stopped to think of herself yet and she was still gripping her ~V~ blade, her knuckles white from the pressure. She would only relax once the physician informed her of Thain’s condition.

“I am grateful for your assistance Lady Silmeriel, but I believe we should care for you as well,” she repeated.

Silmeriel hesitated for a moment as if pondering if she should insist in offering help or not but interrupted the thought and said.

"I am...fine, the girls helped me I won't bleed anymore, it hurts but I can handle it, it will pass, it's true I am fine"

She then rose up looked at Thain's direction and turned to Deianarah again.

"You're hurt too...maybe the King will be fine but please, let me have a look at your wounds, I am sure I can do something"

She then looked deep at Dei's eyes with concern and it was clear she would not leave without examining her.

Deianarah frowned at Silmeriel’s request. “I am fine,” she insisted and pulled away. No matter how much she tried Deianarah couldn’t shake what had happened the last time she had been in the presence of the other woman. She still remembered their kiss, vividly.

Brushing her hands along her light brown leathers, Dei managed to get some of the blood off, and worked the stiffness from her shoulders. “I am only tired from fighting,” she said quietly, glad that she had not suffered any immediate wounds, but the fighting combined with her pregnancy, didn’t leave her with much strength. Had it not been for her anxiety over Thain’s condition, she would have already collapsed. “I simply need to lie down, and gather my energy.” She was about to turn from her and then added, “we need to gather what strength we can. Come morning they will return and we will have to fight again. We need to protect these walls at all costs,” her voice was determined, but she couldn’t help glancing at Thain still in the bed. Hopefully he would be fine by then. “The gods help us, we must stand strong.”

'''Roleplay from Isabel Moreira'''

Isabel smiled remembering why Alec always worried about her being injured. She did have a talent to become a bull’s-eye in the early years...

A lady bumped into him and fell, Isabel couldn't help notice the beauty of her even though she was hurt. Alec helped her up and she left to look for Lady Deianarah. She truly looked concerned for her wellbeing.

Isabel turned back to Alec and replied him. "I'm fine mo'searc. I was more worried about you. I'm glad you're well." she gave him a kiss and hugged him with relief. He was alright physically but she couldn't help wonder how the battle affected him mentally. She put it in the back of her mind for the time being she was just happy he was alive and well.

She worried about King Thain's condition though. He didn't look very well.

Alec kissed Isabel and took her hand, leading her away before anyone else bumped into them. “We need to rally everyone again, and we need to hold the walls,” he said quietly, his voice seeming to change into harshness, “we may be outnumbered, but I want to see blood, and hear their screams of terror as we push them back.” Strangely Alec seemed to fill with an emotion of anger and hate, and a seeming lust for more bloodshed and battle.

“With the Warmaster and the Marshal down, we need to make preparations as best we can,” he turned green eyes on Isabel, the gold flecks in them shining with intelligence. “This can’t happen again.”

Silmeriel couldn't help but sigh, she knew what was drawing them apart and regret filled her mind each time she remembered that night. She feared Dei would never forget it and it filled her with fear.

She looked down and slowly approached a nearby table, leaving something on it, she then turned to Dei quickly and said is a resigned tone.

"Very well my lady, and as always you have my sword, tell the healers to look for me if they need anything, good night..."

She then left looking down, and walking heavily. The object on the table was now visible, it was a round brown fruit with small note under it.

"For pain and fatigue"

Deianarah watched Silmeriel leave, and she couldn’t help feeling sad for the situation they were both in now.  She approached the table, and picked up the fruit on it. She read the note and then set it back on the table.

She then walked to the kitchen, and gave the fruit to the cook. “Please when the King is well and is brought food again, I wish for this to be served as well.” The cook nodded and took the fruit away, setting it on the nearby counter. “I will see to it personally Milady,” he informed her and she gave a tired nod and left. She returned to her bedchambers and sat on a nearby chair and waited, watching everything unfold with anxiety. It didn’t take long that she fell asleep from exhaustion.

'''Roleplay from Isabel Moreira'''

Isabel noticed the excitement in Alec's voice. He always liked action but since the last events she couldn't help but worry if it was just excitement or something darker.

In the background screams of pain and horror were heard and Isabel closed her eyes to the sound. Horrific memories crossed her mind and she was starting to wish she didn't remember it all, just like Alec.

She focused on him again and listened carefully to his words and agreed with him. They had to defend the stronghold at all costs. She nodded her understanding and let him lead the way.

'''Roleplay from Nihilus Orgauth'''

Nihilus entered the palace, looking very different from his usual gallant self and more like the Nihilus of old. The harsh general, who was meticulous in all planning, firm and dour.

His long hair washed in blood, and yet he looked well himself apart from many superficial wounds.Of note were only the scars of old, which were many but did not harm his elegance, actually adding a new charm to him.

As he approached a group of confused guards he ordered with his voice echoing through the corridors.

"By Hel! What are you still doing here?! I had to keep the dogs away from the gates myself! Get into position! Station yourselves at the gates, my men are there they'll command you! And no I don't have authority to order you around, but if you don't want to be dead by dawn you'll do as I say!"

The guards were shocked. Every decent soldier knew Nihilus had been a general in the past and twice. But they could hardly believe this was coming from the man who was often singing on corridors of the palace to entertain young noble ladies.

Yet they didn't resist, his voice and atitude as well as the fact he was still fine after all these hours fighting created an immediate admiration for the man.

Nihilus smiled briefly as they rushed in line to the gates, but kept going on.

At each corner his commands could be heard everywhere, ordering men to different parts of the palace's walls and others to the gates and other sections.

He finally arrived at the main hall where many nobles where gathered, threw the rapiers on a table and sat to drink some wine after drinking a full cup he asked.

"So are we gonna do something or just have some fun all night? Me and my men are going to do a raid, any volunteers?"

'''Roleplay from Tharion de Ravenal'''

"Your Highness, we have to consider a retreat! There are too many of them and we are the last of the frontline." The Captain yelled above the clamor of the battle, desperate to gain the attention of his King who still stood his ground, exacting a punishing toll with every swing of his hammer.

The size of the enemy army was larger than he had been led to believe, indeed as the battle had raged it had become apparent that even the C'thonians were surprised by the display of force. Captain Gisbert recalled the reaction of King Tharion as the incoming soldiers charged and arrows rained down upon their position. He touched the phoenix that crested the chest plate of his new armor, kissed the white rose that marked his shield and then calmly waited with his warhammer in his hand. His demeanor was matched by the soldiers that surrounded him, the white unicorn emblazoned on every man's chest so that none could mistake who they served.

The fighting had been fierce and unrelenting. Scores of soldiers died with every passing minute and throughout it all the Unicorn Guard had stayed at the side of the Aenilian King, determined to fight while he still did. Gisbert kept a careful watch on the battlefield and the gradual loss of their allies. Soon the enemy would over run them and after Duke Xarnelf had captured Conan it took little guessing to assume that his own King would make a fine prize for Soliferum.

"Your Highness!"

This time Tharion turned his head and with a angry look he nodded to the Captain. The order was given and as one the Unicorn Guard began to withdraw.
