This is the BattleMaster Community, made not only for, but also largely by players. It is a WikiWiki system, using MediaWiki, the same software that powers Wikipedia.

Official Manual

All pages in this section have been written by contributors and are occasionally reviewed for accuracy. The manual is intentionally incomplete in some details and does not reveal everything, simply because it makes for a more interesting game to discover some stuff on your own.

Community Portal

The purpose of the community portal is to allow convenient access to the various sections of the BattleMaster wikipedia to assist them in creating new pages, editing older pages, and finding the necessary information.

Community Manager

The community portal is operated by the Community Manager, Ethan Lee Vita, and his deputy, Rob Croson. Their duties are to oversee the community portal serves the needs of the community, such as keeping the Rules and Policies easily accessible and facilitating effective communication between the community and the development team. They do not make the rules or policies themselves, create all the feature requests, or do all the coding.

Development and Contests

We are currently refactoring the code to update and massively improve BattleMaster. Early details and an overview can be found on the War 2.0 page.

Part of our continued effort is that we run occasional Contests where you can contribute to BattleMaster and have your work be used daily by over a thousand players.

Community Resources

Many BattleMaster players have invested a lot of time, effort, and creativity into both the game and the wiki. Finding these resources, though, can sometimes be a big challenge. Where do you look? What's an example of a good wiki character page? What different religions have people created for BattleMaster? What's a BattleMaster newspaper?

  • Gems of Wisdom - Index of game information from players, for players.
  • Background Information - Historical data and details about the european medieval times
  • Realm Pages - Propaganda, mis-information or plain descriptions of various realms all around the game.
  • Guild Pages - Where the guilds can present themselves.
  • Religions - Where faith rules all
  • Family Pages - Collection of family pages, where you can add a page about your own family.
  • Quotes - Memorable in-game (or discussion list) quotes
  • Miscellaneous - Anything that doesn't fit into the categories above.

  • Temporary Pages - This is just a starting and collection point for all kinds of random pages. Use this to start your own article if you don't yet know where to put it, or to temporarily store work-in-progress.

One very popular aspect of BattleMaster are the various newspapers, usually written in-character. Here is the master index of all these publications:

East Island News - Atamara News - Beluaterra News
Colonies News - Far East News - South-East News - South-West News
Dwilight News - International News - OOC News
