About the Lurian Herald
Day 21 of Summer, Year 46

The Lurian Herald is the successor to many of Dwilight's previous newspapers - the Poryatown Press and the Dwilight Daily to name a few. For a long time, Dwilight has been without reliable and widespread news and so the House of Medici has taken up this task to serve our great continent. We do seek writers of all walks of lives and of all biases to write for the Lurian Herald. The newspaper itself is not strictly loyal to Luria, but its name comes from being based at the heart of Lurian lands, Giask. If you hold any interest, write to Alessio de Medici, and we shall bring you into the fold.

The Lurian Herald will be comprised of many forms of news - discussed in these pages will be philosophy, history, religion, politics, warfare, hobbies of the Highborn, anonymous advice, advertisements for taverns and academies and even those sent in by the readers of the Lurian Herald. Such advertisements are all free - the Lurian Herald is entirely funded by the House of Medici - we spare no expense.

Despot of Luria Nova
Politics - by Alessio de Medici

Appointed by himself via ducal votes, Aylwin Gottfried, 'Suzerain' King of Moon Hall is now also 'Suzerain' King of Luria Nova. What one may not know is that King Aylwin the Usurper earned this nickname for a reason - after righteously taking back Luria Nova from Empress Isabella the Bloodless, he proclaimed himself king of Moon Hall, which was not challenged by our former Emperor Nicholas Archival. Any opposition has not been tolerated by this tyrant, first duels were to happen with his, arguably, arch-nemesis Margrave William Fitz Roberts. Instead of an unnecessary fight over ideological ground, King Aylwin the Usurper has upped the act to be rid of his critics, rather than accepting the existence of the opposition. In his own words, King Aylwin has had Margrave William and his "associates, "banished on grounds of his attempts to destabilize the realm and bring Luria Nova back into chaos." He added, "Any further and unjust insurrections will be men the same way."

Now, I am no Fellish man - it was only recently our peasants in Luria Ferrata were angered with missing elections after government members were appointed. When a man appoints himself, without competition, in an election that has been shortened, forcibly ousting any opposition to his ways, these are the actions of a despot. Nothing short of the worst despot in recent Lurian history.

Despot Aylwin the Usurper ended one tyrant and has shown his colours, as any ship would before firing at another. Will Luria Nova stand against him? And will the rest of Dwilight have their support?

Wonderful Wedding
Politics- by Alessio de Medici

I recently had the great privilege of attending the wedding of my good friend Staedtler la Stylo and his beautiful bride, Irina Bowker. Let us all drink this eve (or the eve that this paper arrives to your household) in honour of them, and may they be blessed with great fertility.
