Adventures with Lily

Roleplay from Oiren
Lily's Return:

Oiren was sat in the same tavern, the concern was very apparent on his face. He had delayed his travels in order to complete a task he had taken upon himself, however when he became aware that both of his travelling companions had gone silent, he couldn't help but worry. In an attempt to calm his heart, he had bought a small leather bound journal and a set of ink and quills. He was beginning to write about his travels, however he could not concentrate on his writing and before long he had given up for the moment.

Oiren held his head in his hands, a small pile of empty glasses surrounded him, finding himself visibly shaking. A bar maid arrived with another glass of ale, she paused for a moment after placing the glass on the table and rested her hand on his shoulder, attempting to reassure him knowing that nothing she could say would help him. Before long, the door of the tavern swung open and a tall round looking man entered in, looking around the place before marching over to Oiren. Behind him stood a small cloaked figure, a hood covering her face, clutching what could only be identified as a small stuffed bear with a bright red ribbon. Seeing this, Oiren's eyes lit up with hope, standing up slighting he moved towards the pair.

The burly man stopped moving, as the hooded figure lifted her hood slightly to see Oiren. At which point, the figure became obvious to Oiren, tears beginning to form in the bottom of his eyes. He began to rush over to the girl who he could now see was Lily. Lily also began to tear up slightly and also rushed towards Oiren, the two of them meeting in an embrace, the both of them now crying tears of joy. Oiren looked up to the burly man, gave him a thankful nod and handed him a pouch of gold.

"I am so glad you are safe. What happened? Where is Lyra?" Oiren looked at Lily, wiping away the tears that streamed down her face with a clean handkerchief from his pocket. "I was so worried, you both vanished."

Lily could barely muster the strength to speak, her croaking voice could not be heard over the sounds of the taverns. "They... they was captured.. Lyra was captured.. I... I was found by Elian... he... he helped me escape.."

Oiren could see that she was struggling, he brought her over to his table and called out to the bar maid from before to bring some food and water. Without missing a beat, the barmaid rushed into the kitchen.

"Its okay, you are safe now. I am sure that Lyra will be alright, she is strong and determined. I shall write a letter in hopes that she will read in once she gets out so that she knows you are safe. We are safe here, lets us wait for her here." Wiping away some more tears from Lily's face, Oiren reached into his pack and produced a small doll, made out of finely cut oak and adorned with a silken dress, the marks on the wood made it obvious that this was hand made, the dress made out of an assortment of silken materials, he handed it to Lily. "I had hoped to give this to you under better circumstances, however I feel you need this now more than ever. I am sure Lyra will be fine and once she is back, you can show her your new doll."

The barmaid returned with a small plate of food and some freshly baked bread. Oiren thanked her and handed the plate to Lily. She began to eat, slowly at first, once she calmed down she began to enjoy the food before her. Oiren smiled before taking another drink. The two began to catch up, each of them telling stories in a hopes to distract the both of them from the painful memory that Lyra is still missing.

Bad News: Part 1

Oiren sat peacefully in the tavern, a day had passed since Lily's arrival. The both had calmed down and they had become happier once again. Oiren had produced his map once again and began pointing out different locations that have interested him.

"I would like to visit Perleone once Lyra returns. From what others have said, it seems to be a decent place for people like us. From what I hear, they make great cake down there. I dont imagine it is as good as the one you shared with me the first time we met, but it will be a great adventure for out taste buds."

Oiren let our a hearty chuckle and smiled at Lily. It was no secret that Lily was concerned for Lyra, it was showing on her face. Oiren was trying to brighten the mood for her, it was tough but seeing even a little smile from her face was enough for him. He called out to the barmaid to bring another round of drinks, there was nowhere near as many empty glasses on the table as there were the past few days, the mood had definitely softened.

As the evening drew to a close, Lily was fast asleep at the table. Oiren had produced a blanket from his bag and covered Lily as she rested. Very few of the patrons remained, only simple candle light lit up the room. Oiren sat impatiently watching the door, his restless leg bouncing up and down with nerves. The edges of his fingers ruined by his nervous biting. After a short while, the door swung open. Oiren stood to his feet but reluctantly sat back down again when he saw that is was just another bar patron. This happened a couple of times, each time weakening Oiren's resolve and hope. However as Oiren was just about the fall asleep, the door opened once more, this time a face he recognised. It was the man who had guided Lily to Oiren.

The man approached Oiren and bent down to whisper in his hear. "I am sorry to have to say this... but there is a rumour coming from Eponllyn that Lyra.... has been executed..."

Hearing this Oirens face went white, his pulse raced as he felt his heart shatter. Stunned into silence, all he could do is look up to the man as tears began to form in his eyes. He quickly looked to Lily, however she still rested peacefully. The man began to speak once again, "Thats... thats not all... your companion... the man who sent me... Elian... he was also included in that rumour..." This proceeded to knock Oiren more. He had not known the man for very long but had enjoyed the company of such a fine man.

Trying to hold back tears and speak, a stuttered whisper came from Oirens mouth,"I.... I dont... know what to do... how could this happen.... What do I tell Lily... Oh god... no..." Now unable to stop himself, Oiren began to cry mercilessly, there was no holding it back anymore. The few people who remained in the tavern looked over to see what was happening but did not want to intrude or cause more problems. The barmaid approached the two of them and proceeded to place her arm around Oiren, trying to comfort him. However this was to no avail, nothing could stop the sadness. What made this worse for Oiren, as Lily slept softly on the table, was how he was going to tell Lily.

Bad News: Part 2

Oiren once again sat on the same table within the same tavern, however a mournful air hung over his head. His face expressionless and empty, his tired bloodshot eyes barely able to concentrate on anything let alone what he is about to tell Lily who returned to the table with a couple of drinks and some food. She passed some over to Oiren however she could not get much of a reaction from him, instead he simply staired ahead into the empty space before sinking into his arms once again. However, he woke up this day with the resolve to tell Lily, she needed to know even if it is a harsh truth.

"Whats wrong Oiren? You not feeling hungry?" she looked at him with concern, reaching out her hand to gently take ahold of his.

"I.... I need to tell you something... I fear that my words may not be great nor will what I am about to tell you." Oiren brushed away some tears that began to form below his eyes. "A few days ago, only a couple of days after you returned back to me, I received some.... some grave news." Oiren tried to hold himself strong for the sake of Lily, however he was struggling.

Lily now concerned even more stared deeply at Oiren. "Whats happened? What.... what do you need to tell me?"

"A couple of days ago, I recieved word of a rumour.... a rumour..." The words struggled to form within Oirens mouth, his mind went blank and he began to sob once again. Lily move to Oirens side, her face now showing signs of deep concern, tears began to form in her eyes as she began to piece together what little she could get from Oiren. She wrapped her arm around Oiren still gripping his hand, this time tighter. Oiren wiped away the tears and began to speak again.

"Lyra..... she..... was executed..." This was the final straw, Oiren broke down. He could not hold back his emotions, his attempts to stay strong for Lily's sake had fallen through. Instead he simply wrapped his arms around her, crying into her arms. No words came from Lily, only the sound of muffled crying could be heard coming from her. By this point, the bar patrons had noticed this. Out of respect this stopped their conversation and bowed their heads. Oiren gripped her tightly, knowing that nothing he could say or do could help, only being able to reassure her that she is not alone in her grief. For them, time stood still. No one within the tavern wished to break the silence nor could they break through the still air that now permeated the tavern.

Oiren attempted for form some words, trying to break through his tears. "I... I think we should move on. I do not know where we should go but.... I do not... do not wish to remain here anymore." Lily simple nodded into Oirens shoulder, a girl her age should not experience such grief. She tried to speak but only a single world could get out of her mouth. "....Perleone... Zolan..." Oiren took note of this, a name he recognised but is unsure why she made a mention of such a person, however he did not ask. Simply acknowledging he gripped her tighter and continued to mourn the loss of his dear friend.

The Meadow:

Oiren stepped outside the gates of Castle Ubent, he looked across the horizon facing away from fortress. Lily quickly joined up with him, sticking close to him both for her sake and for his. Oiren had been troubled these past few days, only leaving the tavern to sell some of his items in order to return once again. He did little else. Lily could see the pain he felt, for she felt it too, but she knew that staying around wouldnt help anyone. But more importantly, Lyra wouldnt want that.

"Come with me Oiren, I have found the most beautiful area to have our picnic." She quickly grabbed his hand and began to pull Oiren away from the gates, his legs began to shake but he followed her, a step at a time.

Before long, the two of them came to a large open field. A complete contrast to the fortress to which they have remained. A number of different flowers were sprouting, a variety of colours danced across the meadow as the gentle breeze brushed over them. This made Oiren feel comfortable, he movements became less stiff as they headed towards a patch near the trunk of a large oak tree. Lily opened Oirens bag and brought out a woollen blanket, carefully setting it down as to not disturb the flowers around the base of the tree. She promptly sat down and held her hand out to assist Oiren. He took off his bag and took her hand as he lowered to the ground. From his bag he produced a wicker basket and a couple of wooden mugs, he placed the both of these on the blanket. For a moment, neither of them moved, the both of them enjoying the breeze as it came across the meadow, the scent of the flowers caressing their noses greeting them with a pleasant smell.

"Let us see what you have made for us. It was rather kind of the tavern to allow you into the kitchen to prepare this." Oiren smiled as he opened the wicker basket before his hand was slapped away by Lily.

"Not just yet, it hasnt been long since we last ate." they both smiled and giggled. This was the first sincere moment of happiness between the two of them in a while. The spot was perfect, it enabled them to truly relax and recover. For a while, they both sat there in silence, enjoying the peace and quiet of the meadow. When suddenly there was a rustling in the bushes, this prompted Oiren to reach for his sword, however instead of the expected monster, a family of rabbits leapt out from the bushes. Oiren was about to laugh when Lily pressed her finger against her lips to keep him quiet. She reached into the basket and produced a small leaf of lettuce, she held this out for the rabbits, tempting them to come over. This caught the attention of one of the children who began to tentatively move over, followed by the others. Before long, the family was vying for a position to get some of the food. This made Oiren chuckle, however he kept quiet and instead brought out a second piece of lettuce and offered it to the ones that could make it through the others. Oiren and Lily smiled at each other.

"So the world can be beautiful, you just need to find the right place."

A Trip to a Temple:

"Come on Oiren, this way." Lily pushed through the crowd, holding tightly to Oiren's hand so that they would not get separated, "We are nearly there."

Oiren was struggling to keep up with Lily's energy, just trying to make his way through the crowd was hard enough on him, but he powered through. Seeing Lily this excited about something, he had to know what it was about. Before long they came to a large temple, crowds of people gathered at the entrance as a priest was about to give a sermon to the crowd.

"Good we made it in time. I had heard that from a visitor that today one of the priests of the temple was going to give a sermon to everyone." She smiled and turned to face Oiren, panting and out of breath he replied with an exhausted smile, "Come on, it wasnt that difficult." She laughed to herself, holding onto his hand as she faced the main stage that had been set up.

"It has been a while since I have been able to visit a temple, I felt that today would be a good day to visit. After all we... have a lot to think about.." She gripped his hand tighter, Oiren could feel the twinge of pain that she was feeling, after all they have experienced, normality such as this was a blessing. Before long, the crowds began to settle and the priest took to the stage and began to speak.

"Thank you all for coming on this cold morning. I realise that many of you here have come here instead of your job, but I am sure your time here shall not be wasted...." The priest continues to speak, the sun rising across the morning shy, timing passing faster than expected. By the time the chime of the bell signalling noon, the crowds had began to dissipate and the priest had finished his sermon. Lily had been enthralled by the words of the priest, Oiren could feel her heart eases with each sentence. This made Oiren smile.

"How about we visit the temple? We can leave an offering as thanks for the kind words that have been shared here." This made Lily smile once more, simply nodding. The two of them began moving through the remaining crowds towards the entrance of the Temple. Others had also had similar ideas and a queue had formed outside.

It took a while for the two of them to be admitted into the temple. Reaching the main door, the head priest of the temple was waiting to greet all the visitors. "Welcome to our humble temple, thank you for your patronage." Both Oiren and Lily bowed to the man before heading further in. The splendour of the large temple was different to what they have experienced before. The two of them offered a silent prayer, the peace of the temple offering the two of them a chance to think.

After a few minutes, Oiren and Lily took a step back to allow others forward, they made their way back to the head priest by the door. Lily offered a gold piece from her pouch, something she had spent a long time working in the kitchen of the tavern they were staying at. Oiren additionally offered a small pouch of gold pieces then asked the head priest. He thanks the both of them, saying that they would be welcome to return again.

After they made their way down the steps, Lily took hold of Oiren's hand again. "I am glad we came here today... this has been a big help." she smiled and looked back up at Oiren, "Lets stop off at a local bakery, I want to buy something for Sophia at the tavern as thanks for letting me come today."

This caused Oiren to chuckle, "Yes that sounds like a wonderful idea. While we are there, lets get something for the two of us also. I could go for some sweet bread."

Roleplay from Oiren
Taking a stroll around the village with the midday sun on their backs. Oiren and Lily wandered through the market, they could see that the mood was not great within the region but people still continued on with their daily life. Lily kept darting between different stalls, admiring pieces of hand crafted jewellery and clothes. Like a dog with too much energy, she darted around the street nearly knocking into different people causing Oiren to have to apologise to many different people, most were forgiving however the odd scowl caused Oiren to shiver.

Suddenly, Lily stopped in the middle of the street, looking around as if she had spotted something. Oiren was confused and placed his hand gently on her shoulder.

"Everything alright Lily?" Lily turned and faced Oiren with a large grin on her face.

"Can you smell it? There must been a bakery nearby. The fresh bread smells so good." She grabbed Oirens hand and began dragging him down the street, "Come, come. We must find it before they sell out."

The two of them rushed down the street before the smell of fresh bread met with Oiren's nose. They came to a rather simple stall, however a queue was beginning to form, as attendants rushed around carrying many different loafs of bread. Lily dragged them to the back of the queue.

"Its been a while since we had fresh bread, maybe we should get some cheese as well? I think I saw a..." Oiren began to laugh, seeing her excitement over food reminded him of when he was younger.

"We shall get some cheese and maybe some ham. Afterwards however, we still need to find the blacksmiths, that was the reason we came here remember?" Oiren had a very sly smile on him. Lily simply nodded, she was distracted by the different people coming around. Before long, it was their turn. Lily ordered the food herself with Oiren paying for it. The two of them began to head back to the main square. Lily looking very pleased while cradling the bread.

They came across a rather crude looking smithy, a spindly looking man was bashing a bit of iron into the shape of a horse shoe. Oiren approached, waving to the man, "Good afternoon, do you have time to do a little work for me?"

"Depen', what's th' wor.", Looking away from the fire, he rested his arms on the anvil before him.

"I am in need of my sword sharpening, are you able to do that?" The man nodded, taking the sword in hand, admiring it.

"It'll take 'bout an 'our. Come bac' then." The man began to work, placing the blade into the coals and fixing some of the dents. Oiren nodded and turned away.

"Come on Oiren, whats taking you so long? The breads gonna get cold soon." Lily shouted, a very cheeky grin stretched across her face.

A very tired Lily and a concerned Oiren:

Oiren had finally made his way to Moyale. Returning back to the village he had visited many times as he passed through. Not much had changed since his last visit, this gladdened him. He reached into his cloak and took out a small pouch, looking disheartened as he weighed it up, he placed it back. Lily was drifting off to sleep as she stood, tired from all the travelling. Oiren tapped on her shoulder slightly, trying not to disturb her too much.

"Lily.. I am going to set up camp outside town. Once we get there, I shall let you sleep properly. We wont be moving around too much now. I need to make some money."

Lily barely responded, just a slight nod was all that she could manage. Oiren took her under his arm and guided her out of town. Towards the clearing that had stayed once before.

Upon arrival, Oiren immediately took out a blanket and spread it out on the ground. Carefully lying Lily on the blanket, she quickly drifted into a full sleep. Oiren took this time to set up his tent. Once he was done, he cautiously picked up Lily and placed her on the bed roll in the tent, covering her in his woolen blanket.

He took a seat on the blanket outside, looking around at his surroundings. He let out a deep sigh and began counting his gold once again. With each recount, he looked more and more concerned. Finally he gave up. Instead he began to build his fire, taking care not to wake Lily. He held the letter he received from Lyra, rereading every letter. He placed it down next to him and lit the fire. Left alone to his thoughts, he pondered over his recent actions and his journey.

He let out a deep sigh, picked up a waterskin from his bag and poured out some wine into a simple mug and began to drink.

Return of Lyra

The Hunt starts again

As the morning sun crested over the hilltops, the song of the birds remained undisturbed throughout the plains. The soft light of the sun, broken only by the passing of a few clouds, Oiren thought to himself. Today should be a good day, time to finally get back out there.

Taking a step outside the gates, he let out a breath of relief. Lily had been left in the tavern under the watchful eye of the barmaid and the chef, two people who had been instrumental to their recovery. Oiren bent over to secure the laces on his boots before continuing down the dirt road, he pulled out a small parchment of paper and a map, following carefully the tracks of another. His sword hung by his side, rusting and old, but ready none the less.

Following the path, he found his way down an old dirt pathway, eventually opening out into a large grove. Crouching behind some bushes he waited, reports of undead had led him to this location. Before long there was movement, a small band on undead huddled closely together entered into the opening, their mouths still red with blood. Oiren continued to wait, watching their movements as they settled into the centre. The pack started to seperate, stragglers making their way in different directions. Oiren saw his opportunity.

Racing for one of the lone undead, in a quick fashion, slashed his old sword precisely meeting the base of the beast neck. He continued to hunt the lone stragglers, before long the pack was halved. At which point they had collected themselves and continued marching forward. Oiren continued to follow them, keeping himself to the bushes, taking out stragglers until only one remained. The leader of the pack, an undead knight whose armour still clung to his decaying body. Oiren carefully positioned himself closer, searching for an opening.

Thats when he spotted it, the back plate of its armour was loose. A quick slash would render is armour useless. Oiren carefully stepped out from the bushes, replacing his sword with a small dagger, he steadily approached the beast. Before it could react to the stout man behind it, the dagger was plunged into the gap, releasing the armour. This was followed up with a quick slash across the base of the neck once again, not enough for a clean cut but enough to fell the beast.

Oiren wiped to sweat off his brow and crouched over the body, searching for anything of value... a simple ring... rusted armour... nothing of extreme value however useful none the less. Oiren, pleased with his hunt, piled the bodies in the centre and doused them in cheap alcohol from his pack, reaching for a match his lit the bodies on fire. He took a step back and returned to the bushes, just in case anything else would be attracted by the smell.

Roleplay from Lyra
She stepped out of the woods, drawn by a scent. A few corpses were burning nearby, smelling of alcohol, but that wasn't the scent she felt... It was sweeter. Human. It was a scent that reminded her of... something good. It didn't make her too hungry either... But it made her want to follow it. And she did.

Slowly, she tracked down a slightly rotund hunter. He didn't jog her memory, but she felt this big, driving urge towards him.

In a swift move, she stepped out of the trees and stood there, a bit wild, a hungry look on her face, torn clothing, dirty skin. Her short hair had grown. Her body in terse expectation, like a cat ready to jump.

Lyra Returns?

Oiren was enjoying a quiet hunt, very little movement from not so much as even an insect. Maybe the bait is having the opposite effect he thought to himself. However just as he was about to step out from the bushed, he caught a flash of movement. Instinctively he grabbed hold of his sword however it was to late, the unidentified creature moved with unnatural speed for anything else he encountered. Not left with much option, he stood up and began to back away. It was at this point he caught sight of it, the figure standing before him. He stopped dead in his tracks, losing grip of his sword it fell to the ground with a loud THUD.

He was speechless, wiping away at his eyes, pinching himself, trying to wake himself up from this nightmare. Standing before him was Lyra, however it also wasnt Lyra. He carefully stepped back, holding out his hands trying not to alarm the 'Lyra' standing before him.

"L.l..Lyra.... Is....is that you?" He looked at her, with concern and fear. Last he had heard she was killed but yet here she stands, the wild look in her eyes was not of her own. "Lyra... I... I must be imagining this, you.... you were killed." He took a step back, hitting a rock and stumbling to the floor. The shadow of the trees no longer covering her, he could see her torn clothing, her long and coarse hair, he was in disbelief.

Trying to brace himself and stand to his feet, his arms frail and shaken, they could barely hold his own weight. He slowly stood to his feet and carefully began making his way towards her, holding his hand out, trying to look as calm as possible.

"Lyra... if... if that is... you.." He took a large gulp, his mouth dry, "I... I cant believe it... is that really you?"

He was round, and his scent was so sweet. She smiled at him, full of warmth like she had just come home, and extended her own hand to touch his, but then came a pang of hunger, and the wildness was back to her eyes. She stepped back, like a careful beast, fought the hunger for a while, and finally spoke with a coarse, unpracticed voice, but still, her own voice. "Am I... Lyre? I don't... know. I'm alive... and hungry... and alone. Is all I know. And you..." a tentative step forward "... you smell like home... warmth..."

Lyra Returns? - Part 2

Oiren took a gentle steps towards her, he could feel the pain she was facing, reaching his hand out once again to take hold of hers. The cold lifeless feeling became apparent, but he fought through it and stared in her eyes.

"Yes... so... you remember me?" Oiren was taken aback by this, still unsure what to believe, he gripped her hand tighter, to reassure her. "I... I am Oiren... your... your friend.." Oiren gulped at this, no longer shaking but a bead to sweat fell down the side of his face from his brow. Then he snapped back to the situation.

"Hungry? Yes of course , you must be, come sit with me. I have limited food but I will happily share it with you again."

He led Lyra to another opening, he took a blanket out of his bag and put it on the grass. He took Lyra's hand once again, brought her over to the blanket and helped her to the ground. He reached into his bag once again, this time bringing out an assortment of simple foods, each wrapped in different materials. Offering each to Lyra, with a cup of water from his waterskin.

"Here.. it may not be much.. but its the least I can offer. The sandwiches were made by Lily... Do you remember Lily?" He looked upon her with anticipation, hopeful that something will click in her mind.

"I still cant believe you... you are here. I mean... last I heard.. you... you were killed? But now you are here, I... I dont know what to think... is this a blessing or a curse? I... Im just so happy to see you again." Oiren began to stutter as tears began to form in the corner of his eyes, gripping Lyra's hand once again. Almost as if he was scared that if he let go, she would disappear again.

He reached into his bag again, producing a small stuffed bear with a bright red ribbon, he placed it down in front of Lyra.

"Do... do you remember this? I gave it to Lily the first time I met the both of you, the night you helped guide me. I was very lost at the time and it probably would have been worse without your help." He let out a pained chuckle, trying to force happiness through his tears. He unwrapped another small package of dried meat and offered some of Lyra again, smiling as he did this.

"I imagine you are suffering a lot more than I am. What you went through and what you are experiencing now... I dont know what I would have done." Oiren wiped away the tears from his eyes. "I did like you would have wanted, tried to act how you would have done in that kind of situation. For the sake of Lily and your memory, I tried to keep strong. But... it.. it was hard..." Oiren sniffled, blowing his nose in a small piece of scrap fabric from his pack.

"But you are here... this... this must mean something. Ive... Ive never been one for fate or faith... but... neither did I think I would see you again, walking among us." He smiled through his tears, holding his head up, looking into her eyes. The wild in her eyes were clear, but they were still Lyra's eyes.

Roleplay from Lyra
As Oiren had shower her things and offered her every crumb of food he had on him, she haf felt more and more connected to... Something. The touch of his hand was soft, and it quenched her hunger more than the dried meat she bit into. As she sat there, next to him it felt like something could be returned to her.

"I think I... Died. But something kept flowing through me and repaired me from the inside. And I woke up in the middle of... death. It smelled bad, but sometimes I feel I smell it in... Me. Can I smell you?"

She didn't wait for him to respond, still kneeling on the ground, she just leaned over and laid her head on his shoulder, breathing the scent from his slightly sweaty neck, in and out. She couldn't let him go without her... But she couldn't follow him into cities either. The two feelings conflicted inside of her as her rational mind got clearer as it was influenced by his lovely scent.

"Oiren..." She tested. It was the first name she ever spoke since she woke up.

Tears began to form once again in the corners of Oiren's eyes, he had longed to hear Lyra speak his name again. He could feel her breath on his neck as she leaned against his shoulder, comfort began to wash over him as memories flooded through his mind. Like a flash flood, the tears began to flow down his cheeks, an unstoppable tide of happiness and sadness all at once. He wished that this day would never end. However, he could also feel the pain coming from Lyra's grip, her voice cracked and weary, he did the only thing that he could do. Freeing his arms from the weight of the still air, wrapping them around Lyra as the two of them sat on the blanket.

"I dont... dont know what... to do. The pain you... you must feel... I want to do everything I can to help you." His breath heavy, time had frozen for the two of them, the breeze through the trees had disappeared along with the sounds of the birds, nothing wished to disturb this reunion.

"You must have kept yourself away from the cities to protect yourself and others. You worry for this change that you feel within you, what it could do...." Oiren gulped as he finished his sentence, his palms sweaty and his breathing heavier then before, "You don't have to face this alone anymore... I... I am here for you. We can get through this...together."

His grip tightened around Lyra, not wishing to let go in fear of losing her once again. Making the most of this time together, the silence was heavy on their backs, Oiren's cheeks drenched in tears dampening the worn-out clothing on Lyra's shoulder. He waited, allowing Lyra a moment of peace.
