At the Tavern Sunrise Trystrem's Final Mission

Roleplay from Kurohyou

Kurohyou was on his way to the local tavern to see if his men had went there. It seemed they thought it was funny to try and hog-tie their commander and leave him in the stables, but luckily he woke up in time to catch them in the act.

"Damn, if only Aethelmaer were here, he would've loved to see that one...Hehe"

And as he walked through the door of the tavern, Kuro looked over to the bar and saw that Trystrem was there. So he made his approach, and saw that Trystrem had a raven on his shoulder.

"Well looks like you've made yourself a new friend there, eh Trystrem?"

They shook hands and Kuro ordered his usual drink.

"Man, you had me worried there, Trystrem. I heard in the reports that you were captured a second time in Ikkie?"

Roleplay from Trystrem

"Ah, yes, the report was correct. I was just walking down the alleyways like I normally do, when a dog spotted me, and alerted the guards. Sitting in that prison though was very nerve-racking. Having to sit there and think I was going to die. Luckily, this little guy, Shadow, had found me and fed me worms while I was in there."

Trystrem ordered another ale, and sat back. Remembering his brother Aethelmaer, and realized he was talking to his best friend. Tears started to well in his eyes, that Kurohyou and Aethelmaer used to sit like this and talk all the time.

"You knew Aethelmaer well, right? Tell me about him, would you? I never really got a chance to know my brother too well, with all of our constant arguements."

Roleplay from Kurohyou

Kuro noticed the tears of sorrow that Trystrem was holding back.

"Yes, I did know your brother very well. He was a great man to have as a brother. Even though our realm was on the path to destruction, we both stayed alongside one another and hoped to see that we got through.

Kuro actually laughed when a thought came into his head.

"Hehe...I remembered when me and him went on our adventure in Tara to destroy Herutenshi. That was probably the best time we had, unless you count the Ser'quea tournament. I think that everyone, even his new realm mates, got a kick out of that one."

Even though he was trying to bring up happy memories, just looking at Trystrem sitting there with him talking over a glass of ale..it still brought up the reality that he was gone.

"Barkeep...another round of ale over here...NOW!!!"

Kuro then looked back at Trystrem and asked what he remembered of his brother, although that probably wasn't the best thing...

Letter from Trystrem

Hearing of all the good times they've had, made him even more saddened. If he could only change a few things way back when.

"Well, all I can remember was back when we were still children. He always wanted to train. Grim helped him all the time, until Guenevere arrived. Then the two were inseperable."

Trystrem takes another sip of his ale, mumbling a few words under his breath.

"Everytime we saw each other it was like a whole new battle had started in a neverending war. It always ended with each of us calling each other names, and stomping off."

Trystrem could recall the vague memory of one of their 'battles'.

"I would call him a dirty arseface, and he would reply back with sneaky backstabber."

Thinking closely, he brought out a burst of happiness.

"It seems both have come true, I am just a simple infiltrator, stabbing backs, and he had certainly become a dirty arseface by what happened at the tourney in ASI."

Then his face quickly lost its happiness, as he remembered the final memory of his brother.

"Then the last thing I remember, is when I tried to kill him. Grim had caught me, and together with Aethelmaer, caught me. I was thrown out of the house then. Now, I feel horrible knowing he turned out to be a very honorable noble, and I'm just a lowly saboteur."

Trystrem finished off his ale, and sat there, thinking things over, and contemplating whether or not he should end his life to get to know his brother better in the afterlife.

"Guenevere? Aethelmaer never mentioned about her before...what is she like?"

It was yet another vague attempt to try and get Trystrem's mind off of Aethelmaer and all the sorrow that came with him.

Roleplay from Trystrem

"Ah, Guenevere! I'm surprised Aethelmaer never told you about her. She was always so energetic, and loved Aethelmaer to bits. She was beautiful, her hair was a gorgeous tanish/blonde that flowed."

Trystrem stared off for a bit, thinking of her. Taking a sip of his new ale, he came back to the present.

"She was always attached to Aethelmaer, like two peas in a pod. You couldn't get them apart. I was always jealous, she never paid any attention to me. And if she did, it was to smack me for hurting Aethelmaer."

Trystrem looked over at Kurohyou, he seemed to be dreamy eyed, so he decided to leave him alone for the moment, let him bask in his thoughts about Guenevere.

Roleplay from Kurohyou

~Guenevere...oh that's such a pretty name. And with what Trystrem just said about her, she sounds like she's damn pretty...~

Kurohyou then slammed his glass of ale on the counter and said,

"Alright I know what I must do...I must go and see this Guenevere and ask her on a date!!!"

He then somehow woke up from his daydream and looked around. All eyes were staring at him. His face instantly turned red. And in order to eliminate all eyes, he wielded his Masamune and pointed it to the crowd.

"There's nothing to see here you fools...go back to your drinking!!!"

They did just do that, and as Kuro sat back down, he saw that Trystrem was on the ground, holding his rib cage, and was laughing his arse off.

"What...it's not my fault you put her description in my head?!"

Roleplay from Trystrem

Trystrem couldn't help but laugh. Falling on the floor, he laughed harder than he had ever laughed before.

"What it's not my fault you put her description in my head!"

"Oh I know, I know. I'm afraid it's going to take more than just going up and asking her for a date my friend. She may seem like she's simple and easy, but let me warn you, she's actually one tough cookie."

Trystrem had spilt his ale while he was laughing, and decided that he was done for the night. He could already feel his drinks catching up to him. Looking through blurry eyes, he stood up.

"Besides, she's over in ASI, the land of ale and a neverending war with Abington. I can only imagine what she's doing over there."

Trystrem proceeded to walk out of the tavern, and upon reaching outdoors, he stumbled over, and passed out.

Roleplay from Kurohyou

As Kuro begins to calm down from that little performance, he notices that Trystrem was at the door. He tried to go for the door too, but by the time he got there, Trystrem was passed out on the ground from the ale. Kuro then gave a little laugh.

"Do I honor the moment and re-enact the trick with Aethelmaer to Trystrem?"

Kuro thought, then decided not to. So, he hoisted Trystrem onto his shoulders and started walking him back to his tent.

Letter from Trystrem

Later on in the day, a loud chirp could be heard from outside. Shadow was trying to awaken his newly found partner. Trystrem was lying face down, on the ground staring at a knife in his hand. Frightened, he quickly stood up and threw the knife through the tent. He heard a squawk and a flapping of wings, then a thwump. He looked through the hole to see Shadow, flying back to his perch, and the knife sticking into a tree.

Now ready, he decided it was time to get some work done. He strapped up his knives, and other supplies he'd need. Made sure his scouts we're ready, and first made a stop in the city.

Roleplay from Kurohyou

As the sun is rising, Kurohyou decides to take a stroll with Kyoku to check up on old Trystrem. When they arrive at his tent, Kuro could see that the lamp was lit and could see that Trystrem was preparing to move out on another mission.

"Alright, since I am trying to become a master of the shadows, let us see if Trystrem can notice me sneaking up on him when he comes out of his tent."

Kuro then hides in one of the nearby trees at the top. He made sure the Kyoku was hiding in a bush nearby and kept quiet. Kuro then took out one of his hand-forged kunai knives and prepared himself for Trystrem to come out...

Finishing up, he walked out of his tent, and he could sense something was different. Looking down at the ground, he noticed a lot more pairs of footsteps than there should be. With that, he looked around. Finding nothing, he turned towards way of the city, and started to walk. After a few steps, he though he heard something rustling in the bushes. He took out one of his knives, and quickly whipped it into the nearby tree. Kuro dropped out of the tree, just as soon as it happened, shocked at what had happened.

"Oh, Kuro! I didn't think it was you. I must be getting paranoid, being attacked by an infil all the time gets to you after awhile. Please forgive me."

Trystrem walked over to Kuro and helped him up. He gathered his knife, and then walked with Kuro back to the city.

After refitting with supplies, Trystrem had brought Kurohyou and Kyoku over to the city square. Trystrem felt like something bad was going to happen in the near future, and he had to tell Kuro about it.

"Kuro, I have to speak my mind. I can't keep in my feelings much longer."

"What's the matter with you all of a sudden?"

"I just have this deep hunch that something is gonna happen to me in the near future. I've been having this strange dream, I'm running from this huge face, but I can't outrun it. It catches up and eats me whole."

"That's pretty strange, what do you think it means?"

"I don't know, but I don't want to find out. Look, I have to go, I'm needed out in the field. I have to give you something."

Trystrem pulls out of his pocket, two small statues. He hands them to Kurohyou.

"I'm going to trust you with these two statues. If I don't make it back, I want you to make sure Guido gets those back. I might not be around long enough to fulfill their purpose."

"Don't talk like that Trystrem. You're not going to die. You can't. If you do, I'll have no friends to look to."

"I'm sorry, but I have to go. Take care Kuro. Kyoku, take care of Kuro, he'll be needing you in the next couple of days."

Trystrem ran off, and with a jump, and a short climb he was on the rooftops, already on his way towards the horizon.

Roleplay from Kurohyou

After seeing his friend Trystrem run off to his next mission, Kuro gave a quick prayer, hoping for a safe return. And at the same time, Kuro's scribe had come with the new orders.

"Hmm, we're attacking Gwohadda. Well that seems good to me. The men that we have now are battle ready."

Kuro then remembered the two statues that Trysrem asked him to return to Guido if he does not return. He went into his tent and as he was preparing to arm himself, he placed the two in a box that was pulled out from the desk. Inside was another statue, but that of a beautifully crafted dragon sent from Kurohyou's cousin, Enzeru.

"Alright, well if I have a chance after the upcoming battles, I'll fulfill my promise to Trysrem. But now, onward to the battlefield."
