| + | After the battle for Osaliel was lost by Lunaria and Nighthelm because of the treachery of Zonasa and the refusal to act by the Lunarian chain of command, Friedrich's world came stumbling down on him. He felt betrayed not only by Zonasa, but also by his own leadership as he saw the Nighthelm troops being slaughtered by the Soliferum demons. Immediately after the battle which they were not allowed to join, he and his men were seen storming off, the banner they used to carry with Lunaria's symbol thrown into the mud and replaced again by the personal banner of the Klingenberg family. If they were not allowed to fight either way, they might as well spend the rest of the war in the brothels of Ortedail, so went Friedrich's logic at least. | ||

The noble Klingenberg family was founded generations ago in Dsinasas, when Fredrick Klingenberg saved a nobleman's daughter from a wild boar's attack and was rewarded a minor noble title for it and some land of his own. For these actions, the family coat of arms was chosen to be an impaled boar.
The family continued it's existance mostly unnoticed, as a small family without any real power, without much land or much interference in politics and war.
