New Laws to Protect the Order of St. Iestyn

Soon after the former Royal Arbitrator, Lord Brom, was required to step down by Her Highness Queen Alanna, new laws regarding religion were written. The temples of the Order were now acknowledged as the property of the Order, and could thus only be torn down in agreement with the Order. The law was written specifically for the Order as the faith of the Queen, founded by her brother-in-law Grand Master Drystan, and for the reason that it had done nothing but good for the realm. The other faiths present in the realm were seen as either not requiring or not deserving such protection.

Traitor Dothel Banished from the Realm

In the lack of enemies outside of the borders, the Queen discovered she had an enemy within the Lurian nobility. Anonymous letters were sent to the nobility, encouraging rebellion. In the letters a blame was placed unto the Queen for the attacks of the hordes of monsters and other dark creatures. Several investigations by various strong nobles were launched, resulting in discovering the identity of the traitor. Sir Dothel Conrad was identified as the culprit and soon after banished from the realm. He insisted the fault was instead that of his liege, the honorable Count Dene, but this view did not gain much support. The banished noble was seen boarding a ship to Far East, perhaps to find a better destiny on those distant shores.

Struggle Over Dantooine

Although Dantooine was once more conquered to the Lurian empire, the situation was far from stable. The Iron Brotherhood of the Duchy of Poryatown suffered from a severe lack of nobles to lead the troops required for both keeping the beasts away from the region as well as to maintain law and order among the peasantry. Duke Brom sent several requests to the Council of Swords for assistance, but the Silver Shields of Askileon reported to be urgently needed elsewhere. Thus the life in Dantooine remained quite adventurous for nobility and common folk alike.
