Individual Army Training - Movement to Contact

Task IAT#2 "Movement to Contact"

TASK: To successfully deploy an Army into a simulated combat situation.

CONDITION: Given a rallied army, A combat scenario, scout reports, and specific orders, you will review all intelligence, set unit settings, and deploy an Army into a simulated combat environment.

STANDARD: To correctly deploy an Army, utilizing intelligence reports using proper communications, orders, general orders, and proper tactical settings move to engage an enemy in a simulated combat environment with a minimum of 80% unit participation. This exercise can or will include logistical, tactical or leadership shortfalls.

SCENARIO: Our High Marshal has ordered (Insert Army name) in (insert Area A) to engage enemy forces in (insert area B here which is adjacent to area A) Intelligence reports the enemy force in (Area B) has a combined combat strength of (Insert 1/2 the training Armies total CS here).Scout reports also indicate an enemy force in (insert area C adjacent to area B but not to area A) with a combined combat strength of (insert 1/2 the training armies cs here).

MARSHAL NOTES: You are to tactically order your men into combat or assist your assigned leader in the event you are removed. Test men on unit settings and why.Explain all actions in detail to the HM. All communications will be evaluated as well. In the event the HM orders a unit dead or out you are to order them back to the original rally point-if the unit does not it will effect your evaluation. You will also provide input for the High Marshal's after action review.

HIGH MARSHALS NOTES: Your role is strictly to evaluate and umpire. Units that fail to move or use proper settings are eliminated and should be ordered by you to report to the rally point as well. Any disobedience to orders will be points off. If the Marshal orders improper unit settings they all are eliminated and the evaluation is over. If all of the units move with the right settings then the enemy force is eliminated and the training Armies cs is only reduced by 25%. Adjust this as you see fit for each error. After the battle the marshal should prepair for a counter attack from area c without prompting. (his orders were only to attack area B)if this is not communicated to his army they in turn are eliminated or scored less. After action reviews should be conducted to review shortcomings as well as exemplary actions

KINGS NOTES: Strictly to observe or interject only on a as needed basis
