Line 1: Line 1:
Rathan Himoura, a man of many mysteries. He began his career in Nighthelm, posing as an Inquisitor for the Order of the Elders, searching for knowledge that would be forbidden to him otherwise. One day he found something, and without a word, left for Dwilight, excitedly muttering about how "he found it". Rathan wandered from realm to realm, from Everguard, to Viridian, where he held a title for some time before its destruction, then down to the Grand Duchy of Fissoa, then to D'hara. It was here Rathan found  his home, asked to stay by a contact of his, Conrac. Rathan prospered, and became an assassin. Then, the Dragon Queen of D'hara went mad, and Rathan and his ally, Conrac, Duke of Port Nebel waited. It wasn't until the Dragon Queen stole everyone's tax that Rathan and Conrac took a side, and Rathan set out to kill the Dragon Queen. He wounded her, and then set off for her ally, Katrina, the Confessor, and found himself in prison. If the rebellion hadn't been successful, Rathan would have perished. He lived to see another day, and became Marquis of Nebel, and eventually the Royal Treasurer for a stint. He was falsely accused of corruption and stepped down. He found the love of his life, Sorsha McDowell, and began to court her, competing with the Duke of Port Nebel, Mathias Ridder, a corrupt, arrogant and self absorbed madman. Sorsha eventually chose Mathias over Rathan, and Rathan sank into madness, and plotted to kill Mathias and Cenarious, the new Dragon King of D'hara, whom Rathan had always hated for his arrogance. Rathan had Mathias kidnapped, and was eventually captured, as the Dragon King used his powers of witchcraft to discover who had done the crime. Rathan confessed and ratted out Bowie Ironsides, his co-conspirator. Rathan was spared a ban for a time, but eventually brought up on false charges. Rathan fled D'hara, but not before seeing Sorsha one last time before her wedding. He broke into her dressing room, killed a handful of guards, and was stabbed by Sorsha herself, and cast from a tower. Rathan fell, and was presumed dead. But dead he was not.
