Valius is the youngest of the 3 brothers of Perdan, and the least noble. While his elder brothers sought out fame and fortune, Valius chose to walk a different path.

As soon as the man came of age, he booked passage to the land of Atamara, where he found others of like mind in the Barony of Maker. It was not that Valius had no honor nor that he was not a good man, but he firmly believed that the only things in life were ale and war…and thru them came friendship and honor.

While most nobles of any land seemed to think that honor was doing good deeds, and acting according to a unwritten code of pompousness, Valius believed that such things only created weak people…the sort of people who sit on cushioned chairs and gloated about the new shiny jerkin they had. For him the only honor that existed was the honor of doing what seemed right…a “Warriors Spirit”.

During his time in the Barony he traveled the entire island as the realm conducted raid after raid on any realm that they took notice of. Soon his skill in battle was spoken around campfires and hearths alike, and he began to be known as a Hero.

Life was good for him in that realm. His skills grew strong and his wits sharp. Yet the life of a barbaric realm is never easy. At one point a lost wager with his liege Sir Duck, and more importantly his lack of funds to pay, forced Valius to flee into exile until such funds could be gathered.

The ship which he took to escape Sir Ducks wrath turned out to not be what he expected, which he did not realize until he bobbed in the sea off the coast of the Far East Island, and the ships Captain yelled across the waves to him: “Good luck in hell…courtesy of Sir Duck and his gold”. Valius found land at last, and could not help but grin at the turn of events. Sir Duck indeed had the last laugh in the matter.

Once on land, Val forced into service, the first man he came across. The mans name was never taken nor given, but from then on was only referred to as “Fisherman” due to the mans former profession.

Fisherman became Valius’s scribe, and followed him as he vanquished hords of monsters in Idaol and quickly became a Hero of her people, and soon after her count.
