As you may know, prior to joining Giblot, I was the Judge in Wetham. I had a philosophical disagreement with the other members of the ruling council. In order to allow them to rule as they felt they needed, but to still stay true to my convictions, I decided that it was best to step down. At that point, Giblot was the obvious choice, being in my opinion the only other realm with any honour on the island.

One's first battles always seen to be the most defining ones. For me, the battle that most stands out is the Battle of Hulaferd, where the hero Chault, General of Wetham, was killed on the battlefield beside me. Chault had always been an inspiration for me, and a friend, so it was a very difficult time.

As with battles, one's first unit always leaves the largest impact. For me, that was an infantry unit, Gridr's Iron. However, I must admit that I am enjoying my first calvary unit quite a lot. The power of the horses thundering down the field is difficult for anyone to ignore.

I tend to use "Tilogian", but only because I wish to be civil. "Tilog" certainly has a more accurate sound.

Longwinded to drone no more?

Last months infamous new arrival Hlao seen shortly after arriving in Helsera with both Alnus and Stabby Samantha. We are not sure what kind of party happened, but we do know that the next day Hlao was arrested in the Steepglades and Alnus lay seriously wounded in Helsera. By the time the Guillotine caught up with Hlao, he had been sitting in a Tilog prison for a week, and they had beaten any knowledge of the event out of him. Is Hlao's blade really fast enough to best even the man who placed second in swordfighting in Alebad last moon? Or did Stabby Samantha just got finally get fed up with Alnus the Longwinded's droning?

This was just prior to Alnus landing in prison, where he rots yet again today. Any way you slice it, this has been a tough month for Alnus the Longwinded, the question is will it be his last?

Movers and Shakers

Here we pick the brains of the prominent Giblots. In this inaugural column we have been granted the privlidge of an interview with our Chancellor, Vidara Gridr.

Though she has been a bit more cavalier of late, our realm has a sordid past. What drew you to Giblot?
As you may know, prior to joining Giblot, I was the Judge in Wetham. I had a philosophical disagreement with the other members of the ruling council. In order to allow them to rule as they felt they needed, but to still stay true to my convictions, I decided that it was best to step down. At that point, Giblot was the obvious choice, being in my opinion the only other realm with any honour on the island.

Having participated in a great many battles, is there one in particular that stands out in your mind?
One's first battles always seen to be the most defining ones. For me, the battle that most stands out is the Battle of Hulaferd, where the hero Chault, General of Wetham, was killed on the battlefield beside me. Chault had always been an inspiration for me, and a friend, so it was a very difficult time.

Before the fearsome Gridr's Thunder, there was the awe-inspiring Gridr's Arrows that held the field alone while Bakkhaenal's "Worg Riders" bore down on them at the Battle of Briarull. In your heart, do you favor one unit type over another?
As with battles, one's first unit always leaves the largest impact. For me, that was an infantry unit, Gridr's Iron. However, I must admit that I am enjoying my first calvary unit quite a lot. The power of the horses thundering down the field is difficult for anyone to ignore.

And now it is time for a game of either or.

Tilogs, or Tilogians?
I tend to use "Tilogian", but only because I wish to be civil. "Tilog" certainly has a more accurate sound.

Giblots, or Giblotians?
Most certainly Giblotians, although I tend to use the longer "members of Giblot".

Headball, or a Stick Party?
A difficult choice to be sure, but I believe I would choose the Stick Party.

Shamandar in Purple, or Zakran in Black?
With all due respect to Sir Shamandar, I will take Marshal Zakran in black.

Inquisitorial Puzzle
To say the latest election was akward might be an understatement. The rumor is that Gorham's scribe dropped the ball on the whole "run for re-election" thing and is even now spending time on Gorham's rack. With the incumbent out of the race, Vic the D-err, esteemed Inquisitor Victor Von Neuman swooped in and stole the show on the last day of the referendum. The question now is what will the Inquisitor do with thrice banned and twice deported Alnus the Longwinded, who has stabbed everyone in the Duchy but the Duke? The Guillotine, having already signed up to team one of the horses, is personally rooting for the penning of a "Three Strikes, then a Stretch" law so that we can enjoy an afternoon of drawing and quartering, maybe even with a friendly game of headball afterwards.

The Baron of Briarull

Baron Johan of Briarull,
Is quiet but not quite dull,
This gent man of old
Who brings us the gold,
Is imminently reliable,
And tis undeniable,
As he speaks eyes glisten,
Ears carefully listen,
For he sais not a word,
That needs not be heard.

The Cup Overflowth

Giblot has grown by leaps and bounds yet again in March. We are gonna run this one backwards.

But a few days ago Tadzio Turvak returned to Giblot from walkabout. The word is that Tadzio is former mover and shaker here in Giblot.

Ender Fate also showed back up this month in Giblot, and is rumored to be a king of the long dead Alebad. A Hero of old returning in service of the last free realm of the Colonies.

Nightling Balewind needs no introduction, though we might warn you she is twice as mean as she looks. The Guillotine can appreciate a dedicated sadist when it sees one, especially considering her delivery of Alnus the Longwinded to Giblot's dungeon this past day.

Finally, Fon't Zsar and Edmond Wilmore are two, new, and very quiet chaps from Ammersfield and Briarull. Come out and and play boys, we promise not to bite, well, everyone but Nightling anyway.

Better luck next time!

We have once again come to the sickening crunch and the end of this latest drop of the Guillotine.
