Lore

Keepers of Lore have gathered stories in Giask. Read them here.

Most recently, due to the Lurian Civil War, Giask is no longer part of Pian en Luries at all, but the capital of the newly-founded eponymous realm of Giask.

The City of Giask is certainly one of the vastest cities in southern Dwilight, if not indeed the largest. Sprawling buildings from the shores of the inland lake, it reigns as a centre of commerce over the two shipping lanes - one, the relatively short, 165 mile trip to the opposite city of Askileon, and the other, the massive 950 mile route to Port Nebel, rarely arriving but bringing strange tales from distant lands when it does.

To the south stretches vast numbers of minor villages, often almost indistinguishably fading to the bordering town of Outer Giask. Beyond that lie Giask's breadbasket provinces, but also the open lands where it is rumoured bandits and worse roam almost unchecked.

Entertainment facilities in the city are not limited. The seafront holds a number of more seedy establishments while towards the higher class (and older) end of the city, dance halls may be found - the most famous of which being the reputed Phoenix and Swan Theatre. The ever expanding south also provides good opportunities for pub crawls.

The City is strategically built as houses and buildings grow taller as they get closer to the heart of the City. It was designed so archers could efficiently rain down death from roof tops if any army ever got past the walls that are currently under construction. In the centre of the city, such as it is, is the Ducal palace. It is constructed from local stone mines, taken from the very cliffs themselves. Carved from coquina, it has the impression of having seen a lot of the history of the region, and presided over much of it too.
