Laws of Fissoa

The Law

Realm Laws:

  • Hierarchy: All members of an army are expected to obey the orders of either the marshal or his/her lieutenant. If both are incapacitated, follow the instruction of your lord. If your Lord desires you for a special task, they have a responsibility to either inform the marshals or remove you from the army. It is also expected that all knights honour the requests of their lords, dukes or government officials. If this request is unable to be complied, please notify the relevant authority.

  • Looting is illegal within our borders, it may be legitimate outside the realm, but ask the council for permission beforehand (as it may be diplomatically harmful if you loot a region that another realm has claims on).

  • The use of magic is legal unless used to harm or otherwise remove council members and lords from their positions. All mages are asked to declare themselves to the Judge in private, as to make aware your capabilities and avoid incident.

  • Duels are legal. No prior permission necessary. However, Dueling is not to be seen as a sport, but as a last resolution of conflicts concerning honour.

  • Religion: As religion helps for the moral development of the citizenry, religious worship will not be illegal. The Grand Duchy shall have religious freedom, barring those which claim to be a state religion of a foreign realm. Religions are not exempt from the Grand Duchy's law. It is requested that any foreign priests or priestess' noticed in the Grand Duchy should call an audience with the Judge to detail their intentions. Any scouts who witness a traveling priest should report their presence to the Judge for proper inquisition.

  • Behaviour: All nobles are to behave with dignity and respect towards fellow nobles. This includes, but is not limited to, proper addressing, insults, and especially casting doubt upon another's nobility. Nobles are expected to behave appropriately not only to others within the realm, but to foreigners as well, be they friend or foe.

  • Personal Hygiene: All Privateers are required one bath on a monthly basis at least. Failure to comply will see you thrown out of the courtroom or where ever your smell can not be tolerated.

  • Commoners: Commoners of the Grand Duchy are not to be harmed without reason. This does not apply to foreign commoners. Commoners from a realm we are at war with are to be arrested on the spot.
