Proclamation of Secession

Roleplay from Torin
Message sent to everyone in your realm (96 recipients)

((OOC: Have no clue if any of this will actually happen, got a few errors during the process, and its telling me I'm now the king of Falasan... Anyway...))

War. War seems to be inevitable for this realm. No matter how skilled our leaders are, war is in the future. I have seen the horrors that war can bring, and they are something I would never wish on anyone. I have seen the love of my life killed before me. I have seen friends cut down in combat. War caused these, and caused me to send my brother across the ocean and to his death. I have had enough. When I was appointed Duke of Tucha, Cathrine made me swear that I would do everything to protect my people. Therefore I feel I have no other choice but to declare that Tucha is neutral in any and all upcoming conflicts. I will not have my people go through the pain that I have. I wish you all the best of luck, and hope that we can all continue to exist together without conflict. I know that this is probably unlikely, but I simply could not live with myself if I did anything else. After all, win or lose there is always loss on both sides. That is the nature of war, and war never changes.

Falasan-Tara Treaty Proposal

Letter from Tank
Message sent to the Rulers of this world (12 recipients)

1. Falasan understands Tara's desire to grow. Therefore Falasan accepts to give Tara the regions of Aigaling, Jagla and Chagasu. Aigaling and Jagla will be handed over immediately, Chagasu within a month (real time) after signing the treaty.

2. Falasan will give up all claims on owning Jagla, Aigaling and Chagasu. After they have been handed over, they are rightfully Tara's. On the other hand, Tara gives up all claims on any Falasan regions other than Jagla, Aigaling and Chagasu, including all claims on Chato they might claim to have had.

3. A peace between Tara and Falasan will get signed. It will be a non-aggression treaty where neither one will attack the other. They can still end up against each other because of aiding their friends, but in no way will either side take over lands of one another. This will apply for at least 6 months and can be extended if both sides agree to it. Both parties involved hope this will lead to better future relations.

4. Tara and Falasan understand and respect the rights of national sovereignty. Therefore, they will not enter each other's lands without express, written permission from the current ruler ahead of time.

5. Since handing over Aigaling, Jagla and Chagasu will leave Falasan at a food deficit, Tara traders will hope to be able to assist Falasan at solving this deficit.

If Tara could announce the same, then this treaty is official. A similar non-aggression treaty will be signed with Cagilan Empire before this one is fully in place.

Addendum to Falasan-Tara Treaty Proposal

The treaty was accepted by Tara and the Cagilan Empire, but following the intrusion of Taran troops on Falasan lands in Galadia in early March, the handover of Chagasu was delayed by a week. For more details, see the article "Miscommunications Results in Treaty Modifications" in the March issue.

High Marshal Basil's Letter to King Tank

Letter from Basil

Tank,

If you want War we are still happy to oblige you.

We were not aware that there were negotiations going on between you and CE and Tara. We were told those negotiations were concluded prior to us attacking.

Now we see that this was not the case. You said yourself that Cathrine agreed to hand over regions to CE and Tara only after we attacked you.

As to why we attacked, I never said that it was a lie. We attacked because we were told that you were a threat to us. We saw your troops move into our land. Those troops refused to move when asked to do so. Only one of those TLs was invited in.

I told you this: for months I had been trying to open a dialog with you (Gucky and Cathrine, actually) and you had not included me in any of your planning or ideas. Coupled with your troops in my land, I saw that you were a danger to me.

I did not realize that you were being told that we were a danger to you.

The fact of the matter is that we were both used so that CE and Tara could gain regions. I simply don't want to be party to that.

If you now believe that you have the upper hand, then I will be happy to return to your lands and take some, especially since my intelligence now reports that you will be unable to feed your people once you give away Chagasu and...chato or jagla is it?

I offer nothing to you. If you want peace, we will have it. If you want war we will have that too. My reasons for attacking you are still valid. I believe that Falasan was convinced that Eston was her enemy and planned to attack us.

Your ally ASI will very shortly find out that they will be unable to help you. It will be only Eston against Falasan, and I am willing to take on those odds.

But I would rather not be the pawn of Kings.

Sir Basil
High Marshal of Eston, Duke of Massillion

High Marshal Basil's Letter to Queen Cathrine

Queen Cathrine,

During our war with the vikings, we saw what a danger a strong Eastern Alliance was to Eston. I have worked tirelessly to see the power of the eastern alliance reduced.

I will not insult you by playing political games any longer: Falasan proved itself a danger to Eston during our viking war and since. Now Eston is moving to reduce that danger. We seek no gains in the war, gains will be made by your neighbors to the south.

The Cagilan Empire will be marching on you in less than a week also. Tara will be regaining their lost territory.

The wheel turns.

Sir Basil
High Marshal of Eston, Duke of Massillion
