The Crystal Throne of Everguard is the seat of power for the High King of Everguard. It resides in the Royal Palace inside the capital city of the kingdom, also known as The Emerald City.

History of the Throne

The Crystal Throne on display in The Emerald City

The name Crystal Throne is derived from much of the material used to create both the throne itself, as well as the surrounding area. Where many throne rooms in the world make use of marble, banners and such grandiose items to display power, in Everguard, the floor and surrounding pillars are cut directly from a blue-green crystal found only on the continent of Dwilight - specifically in the northwest of the continent.

The throne itself was constructed of marble, stone and wood that the first High King of Everguard, Fisc Arylon, was able to take with him from South-East Island as he fled the drowning island on one of the last refugee ships. It was molded and carved into its design by peasants of the Emerald City, and was ready for Fisc's coronation.

The base steps of the throne were carved from a teal colored marble found in the expansive peaks of Mt. Black Nastrond, molded into four circular disks that now lay beneath the great throne. Behind the seat are three great crystal pillars - representing the three great realms of South-East Island upon its death, Ikalak, Taselak and Toren - now focused and together as one.

Upon royal decree, it is Everguardian law that no man man sit in the throne of the High King unless he holds the power of that office, and wears the Emerald Crown of Everguard upon his head. Any others that dare even touch it, are subject to an immediate death sentence.
