General Description

The vast expanse of barren plains, where only a few lone and barely living trees break the monotony of a flat land of infertile soil, separates the other wastelands from the lush forests to the south. With roads accessing Nightmarch, Dragon Song, Dragon's Roost, and Volcano Nightscree, Evenfell is a well-traveled, if bleak, crossroad of the Zuma peoples. It is possible that because so many regions with underlying and mysterious forces channeling beneath the ground border Evenfell, the barren earth extends so far. Few settlements can be encountered in this region, and the lone traveler might quickly find that nothing is more frightening or maddening than a large empty flatland.

Culture

Much of Evenfell is unpopulated, or temporarily home to nomads who wander the plains in constant search of food. Some permanent settlements dot the region, with the heaviest concentration at the riverbanks. There, more varied populations exist, with farmers, fishermen, even the occasional trader riding the Root River to the eastern interior sea. It is said that a priestess of the Zuma has a prominent role in the oversight of Evenfell.

Climate

The northeast, in the shadow of Dragon's Roost, is subject to very little precipitation, and can feel the effects of some storms that occur on the peaks of the mountains. The southern areas are more temperate, though rainfall is still less for an unknown reason than lands only a few miles south. The river is prone to occasional flooding during times when there is rain.

Geography

Evenfell is a large region, and is one of the largest badlands on Dwilight. Its many borders means its established roads see a fairly high amount of traffic, though the areas too far from the roads, especially interior regions, see more native beasts than other lifeforms.
