Origin

The origin of the Enchanted Scroll of the Dead is unknown. It was obtained by one Indairo, a roaming adventurer of Beluaterra, who claims he received it from a sage. According to his story, he supplied the sage with fine silk and the eyes of a giant serpent, and some hours later the sage produced the scroll. The sage did not reveal how he got the scroll; perhaps he summoned the scroll into existence, or he might have enchanted a preexisting artifact.

Meaning

The scroll itself is black, and on it there are strange red markings that form unknown symbols. These symbols may be a forgotten language or ancient hieroglyphics; if so, their meaning is unknown. Perhaps they contain an incantation for a spell or instructions on a special burial ritual. It is probable that whoever can decipher the scroll will gain unique knowledge of the dead; maybe even power over the undead hordes.

Owner

Indairo sold the Enchanted Scroll of the Dead to Aelwolf, a noble of Old Grehk, but now it is in hands of Rigel, General of Sint.
