The End of the Dragon Queen

The end of the Dragon Queen and the beginning of Asylon I, Katrina Dragul, who was the Confessor in D'Hara, was there for the beginning of the dream that was D'Hara. I watched as she dissolved herself into civil war, and with a heavy heart set out with those who sought a better life in the new realm of Asylon. In the beginning D’Hara was a realm of great hopes and high expectations. For a time all worked hard together for the good of the realm. Soon the rumors of wars propagated by those who followed the stars found their way to D’Hara. Those who were protected by the dragons began to lose faith. Talk began of leaving the Way of the Dragons and turning our backs on their teachings. Eventually two of the Dukes followed their path. This caused the queen to ask for one to step down, and a great stir came over D’Hara. The Dukes who had turned to the ways of the stars had allowed the effects of the Maddening Star to unleash chaos on D’Hara. Friends turned on each other. The queen in an effort to bring the people back to the dragons was attacked while preaching in Port Nebel. At that time we received news of an alliance between Pian en Luries and Madina and huge forces gathering in Madina to start an attack on Paisly. From that time on she began trying to devise a plan that would save her beloved D’Hara from the threats from all of the realms outside our borders. She even offered to sacrifice herself to the queen of Pian en Luries in hopes that D’Hara would be able to have protection from them. After that, rumors of the queen’s madness increased. Sir Ceyln, along with Lord Altaria offered hope for saving the realm. A group of nobles would venture to the lands on the edges of Caerwyn and start a colony. For her service to D’Hara the queen would be allowed to go with them to live out her life in peace and protection. The colony group would be led by Sir Ceyln who was chosen to become the first king of the new realm, and Lady Katrina the Confessor of D’Hara who had been chosen as the first judge of the new realm. The new realm, it had been decided would be called Asylon, because it would be a place of sanctuary for the weary travelers. Lord Altaria was chosen to become the first banker of the realm and Sir Landro would be the general to lead the forces of Asylon. Once plans for the colony were announced, those who would stay in D’Hara began to accuse the queen of destroying D’Hara . None could see that she was trying to save it, by leaving the land she loved so they could begin anew without any of the prejudices against her to hamper them. Those staying believed that the colony would strip D’Hara bare as people left. In an attempt to bring peace during the preparations, Lady Katrina stepped down as Confessor and was replaced by Duke Colin. The queen, who by now was accused of being paranoid, was convinced that the general was planning a rebellion. Because of this, she removed him as the marshal of her personal guard and appointed Sir Celyn. Within a day, the general started a rebellion against the crown. Before the queen could step down and end the struggle, she was attacked by an assassin. Katrina was also attacked but could capture the assailant and he was arrested. By dawn the rebellion ended and the queen was cast out. At that time the Duke of Eidulb, Lord Aram Stein, who was the Haruspex Maximus of Astrum and a Bishop of the Sanguis Astroism was in Port Raviel looking for the traitorous Duke who had turned his back on the Way of the Dragon to build a temple in Port Nebel. Because of his kind heart, he took Lady Katrina and Lady Katayanna under his protection as his knights in Astrum. As soon as Katayanna reached Golden Farrow, she sought asylum with Caerwyn. Many of the colony members left in the bright early dawn with the queen, among them Sir Landro. Lord Altaria and Lady Thalia stayed in D’Hara in hopes of being able to bring the troops that the colonists were promised, but they eventually journeyed to Caerwyn alone. Soon after the colonists arrived in Golden Farrow, a war broke out between Terran and Caerwyn. The colonists were told they could lead the forces that were headed to battle with Terran and if they could TO the regions held by Terran that their colony could be founded there instead of Echiur. Before battle could ensue, a former ruler of Caerwyn came to the Archon with promises that the hated ruler of Terran had been removed and that Terran wished Caerwyn no harm and peace was signed. The colonists then turned their sites again on Echiur. The colonists were finally able to head out toward Echiur, but were plagued by monsters in almost every region. Help arrived from Caerwyn a day too late to try a CTO of Echiur, and the High Magistrate of Caerwyn, Kanuni, sent word to the Archon that it could not be accomplished and the colonists were ordered back to Golden Farrow. The colonists returned saddened but looking always for the time that they would be able to make their dream a reality. After a long winter, the colonists are again ready to head out to make the dream of Asylon a reality.
