I have cleared, exactly three have spoken a word of thanks. It's enough to make a Freeman glad to not be under their socially untutored and provincial authority.

Being the only Adventurer on Atamara is both challenging and rewarding. The entire island is knee deep in things not human. Challenging because there are no other guild members to ask for help, or to give advanced starting points. Every day, the hunt must be restarted from scratch, and, by the time you work your way up to the decent sized groups, you are stumbling with fatigue before the fight starts.

I cam to be here after finding the army of an Undead Lord on Beluaterra. After attacking him several times, he apparently tired of my making a nuisance of myself, and sent his horde to capture me while I slept in my tent. After trying and failing for a week to torture me to death, I escaped by boat to Atamara. All my hundreds of items gone.

After working my way south along the coast for a month or two, and fighting innumerable hordes of monsters and undead, and being wounded and seriously wounded many times, I came to the fair city of Riverholm. Unusually free of undead, but well supplied with monsters. After a couple of days of the usual fight them until I dropped routine, I finally caught a bit of luck and had this battle, which resulted in me acquiring my first unique item, the Dazzling Vest, since arriving on this island...

After searching the area for 1 hours, following trails and noises, you finally encounter a small horde of monsters.

You notice that they have a leader, an alpha monster, a really big and ugly one, whatever you want to call it.

The battle rages, you against the monsters. Your blows land true and you strike most of them down, while a few manage to flee.

The big one is the last to fall, but after an exhausting fight you manage to take him down, too. In the lair of the big one, you find treasures worth a total of 2 gold, 8 silver.

You also find a unique item among the loot, the "Dazzling Vest".

That was the fourth battle of the day, and it left me exhausted but happy. And dazzled by the one point of Prestige this lovely item confers.
