Introduction

Eiwar Dagoriad is a son of Alexius' younger sister, Sybill, who wedded herself into a minor noble family hailing from East Continent, her husbad being Grimwald, who then became a part of the Dagoriad dynasty. As he grew up in Perdan, Eiwar eventually entered into the service of the Lion. Amidst the Caligulan and Ibladeshian invasion he swore an oath to the Lord of Mulhouse and sought to find his path through valor and battle. His service was short, though. After a particularly annoying peasant insulted him, Eiwar was eager to punish him, but Perdan's judicial system has ignored him and forbade him to exert his vengeance. Shortly after Eiwar hired a ship to take him away from that accursed place, and has vowen vengeance on Vardamir of Umbar. The ship took him to Far East, to the Duchy of Ortedail and in service to the Kingdom of Kindara.

Appearance

As told by Jarlaxle the Loyal:
"His character is such that not even those envious of his power can belittle its praise. His person is well-proportioned. He is shorter than very tall men, but taller and more noble than men of medium height. His hair is brownish, his eyes are sharp and piercing, his beard reddish, his lips delicate. He is a vigorous soldier, beautifully formed in appearance. A ruddy man, faithful and gentle, affable and kind... an experienced warrior full of patience and wisdom in military affairs."

Fighting Style

Eiwar uses an interesting combination of weapons in battle. A dazzling, curving scimitar in one hand, and a solid, round shield in the other. Although Eiwar's skills with the scimitar are impressive and powerful, perhaps it is his skills with the shield that brought him fame for his technique. One of the most misunderstood weapons is the shield. Many think it is little more than a small wall to catch the blows of an opponent. In actuality, the shield is a weapon in its own right. Rather than catching a blow passively, it is moved to parry and deflect. A fighter would rather push a blow aside than catch its full force on his shield. Eiwar uses his shield aggressively as well. He uses it to strike, push, trap and pin as well as defend, and it becomes an active part of his kit, and he uses it with purpose. He holds his shield forward, ready to move it in any direction. He looks to block an enemy's weapon in such a way as to create an opening for a strike. When Eiwar attacks, he will position his shield to reduce his own vulnerability. The shield will always be poised between himself and the enemy. Eiwar does not stick his shield out stiffly. It is a fluid thing, moving with him.
