As Arthorius bade farewell to his servants in his castle, together with his escort he rode out towards the village center to meet with his new knight, Lady Izabelle of Knyazes. The Lady's escort composed of around two dozens of well trained, seasoned archers. He was impressed by the graceful standing the Lady had, and was more than happy to share the road with her to the capitol.

Several miles outside of the village center and during a short break, Izabelle approaches respectfully and after a short bow, she speaks: "Viscount Arthorius, perhaps you can tell me more about the land I now call home."

Arthorius begins: "Certainly, Lady Izabelle. Although I may not be the best choice for telling the tale of Caerwyn considering my short time spent in our Republic, I will do my best.

Caerwyn was one of the first of Republics founded on the western subcontinent known as Occidens. Founded upon the principles of mutual trust and well-being of the realm, rather than Ducal rivalries or resentments. Needless to say that that fact helped immensely for Caerwyn to become what it is today, and that is one of the strongest of realms of the entire continent. We cherish republican ideals and place great value in equality among the nobility, which is why many positions in Caerwyn are voted upon. Still, the Archon holds the right to appoint some positions in order to separate us from a democracy. The land of Caerwyn is vast, with several distinctive areas. Our northern border lies on the banks of River Dunn, and Wynwest, which are the flatlands from Dunnbrook eastwards along the Dunn River, south along the coast to Kybcyell and the plains of Uppervia, east to include Mech Alb, and then tracing back north along the fringe of the forest; including Walefishire. On our far south the Phantarian Forest can be found. It spreads between the Far West and the Great Central Sea, including Inklen, Lavendrow, Mistight, and Faithill. Mech Forest dominates the center of our Republic, and it includes Mech Calen and Mech Derris. Our capitol, the mighty Golden Farrow, is a part of the area called Golden Reach. Those are plains around Golden Farrow, including Farrowfield and Demyansk, as well as Grazne and Knyazes. To our west our second Duchy lies, in the area known as Itaunia, which then ends in the Great Ocean beyond the city of Itau.

Our diplomacy is stable and pointed towards maintaining the stability of the entire Occidens. We are federated with Astrum to the north, and allied mostly with other Republics of Dwilight, and with a small realm of Ordenstaat, buried deep into the shades of Marwood. We have hostile relations with D'Hara, the regional trouble makers, and have recently routed their armies on the shores of Port Raviel. Unfortunately, we were not able to hold the city and it eventually proclaimed anarchy. After that, our military had concentrated efforts to stabilize our mainland and is hunting down monsters to this day.

All in all, the Republic of Caerwyn is one of the most advanced realm on the continent, and we seek to further expand our stretch on Occidens.

I am positive you will find this place to be a home above homes."

By the end of the Viscount's lesson, for to call it anything else would be a disgrace, Izabelle's head thoroughly hurt. So many names to remember and such a vast expanse of claimed land. Lord Arthorius had truly only been here for less than a month? The man must have extreme intellect to be able to absorb such information so quickly. "My, Viscount, you make it all seem so vivid! You seem to paint a picture with your words. I am in luck to be accompanied by one so gifted. Tell me, what of the people we rule, in Knyazes? What are their beliefs? Their oddities? Their superstitions? Do they like being ruled by us? What is their history before we arrived?"

Satisfied that his knight seem to like his story, Arthorius continues...

"Ah, the men of Knyazes are obedient and hard working folk. My rule over the region lasts shortly, yet they have demonstrated great zeal towards repressing the nasty rebels that have spread out through the region once the previous Lord dissapeared. As to my knowing, Viscountess Jadine Baeredor has been ruling over Knyazes for many moons, until she temporarily retired. The influence of Golden Farrow can be directly sensed in them as they are highly patriotic folk eager to contribute to the glory of the Republic.

Religiously speaking they are mostly devoted to Verdis Elementum, a religion which majority of Caerwynian aristocracy follows, myself included, but likewise there are small communities of Sanguis Astroism present.

About their history, well...in their more turbulating and anarchistical past they have found mostly misery and savagery of the Dwili rulers. Barren and depopulated their lands were and they lived in small tribes who fought for domination. Little has been preserved from those times and the history of those dark ages is moot, but, under the rule of noblemen the region has become the shelter for many of the more distant communities, shepherds and blacksmithers, riders and rangers, who have immigrated to Knyazes over the years, eager to start a new, civilized life and make their own history."

"The peoples of Knyazes sound very honorable and eager. I shall be proud to serve and protect them. Perhaps, if time permits, I may spend a little time amongst the commoners to better understand their beliefs and what they expect of those who lead them. I hate to say it, but back in my home it was not uncommon for a particularly neglectful lord to go missing. We always suspected the commoners were behind the disappearances but of course were unable to prove anything. We would hang a few just to reassert our authority but it wasn't until lords that actually listened to what the people wanted and needed were appointed that the commoners actually accepted us."

A flash of color graced Izabelle's cheeks before she minded her emotions while thinking about her next question.

"If I may be so bold, Viscount, may I ask a little of your own history? I know you are relatively new to this realm as well. What was your past before Caerwyn?"

With a prideful gaze in his eyes, Arthorius starts revealing a part of his past to his knight.

"My history is surely less glorious and shorter than that of Caerwyn. My family hails from Atamara, Kilbranba in Carelia to be precise, and it's lineage can be traced in the history of less than 100 hundred years. My cousins, Caranthir and Ghalen, are the only two sons of the family head Alexius, and hence the only heirs to the family's fortunes". No resentment could be sensed in Arthorius' voice. "Alexius' sister, my mother, has been wedded into a minor noble family of Kilbranba, hence bonding the two together. My childhood has mostly been spent in academies of Sullenport, learning and training, until that day when I was fit to represent my family in the white world. When that day finally came I have boarded a galleon and sent off tho the Western seas. From seafarers and journeymen I have heard of a colonist city on Dwilight called Echiur and was about to join it. However, somewhere along the coast of Kybcyell a mighty storm began, piercing my ship with lightning strikes and inevitably leading to it being sunk. When I think of it today I must conclude that the storm has been summoned by Notus himself as I found civilization once I got to the shore. The fair Republic of Caerwyn stood proudly, carved in the wilderness of Occidens, and in need of young aristocrats such as myself. From that day on I serve here, eager to make my mark on the world."

Arthorius looks to the dawning horizon with a hopeful stare, and then abruptly focuses his dark eyes on Izabelle. "And what about you, m'Lady? I hear that you are in search of your brother here in the western lands. What destiny he found, do you know?"

"Indeed, my Lord has heard correctly." Izabelle paused a moment fighting the knot in her throat back to her stomach where it had lived for years now before continuing. "Lancil was always headstrong with an adventurous side; a bit of an eccentric. He was tired of living in our cousin's shadow and as soon as he came of age he set of in search of the newly discovered Dwilight. We received a letter some months later that he had arrived in Dwilight in the newly formed realm and port of Madina. He said the realm had been created by those of a sea faring nature and was run much the same as a ship's captain ran his ship. Shortly thereafter, maybe a month at the most we received another letter saying he had been elected General of Madina. We all found this quite strange as he was still barely 19 years old and had very little military experience. We sent our congratulations and eagerly awaited his next letter. The weeks turned into months which turned into years. Four years later I came of age and decided to come to Dwilight myself in search of my brother. Another family in Arcachon had members of power in Pian en Luries and they provided me with an estate and some gold to get started in this land. Whilst serving in Pian en Luries I continued my search for Lancil when I could. I made my way to Madina but was utterly ignored by all the nobility there. I didn't want to start any sort of war between Pian en Luries and Madina so I left gracefully but I know they must have known something or else they would have at least met with me. So, I have now traveled to the west hoping to find some trace of my brother. Perhaps someone here was in Madina at the same time as he or perhaps someone has spoken to him. I only hope to find some answers."

Arthorius carefully observed Izabelle's gestures and color of her voice as she spoke of her missing kin. Quickly he realized that this subject was not something his knight took lightly. He noticed a strong determination in her eyes. "That is a thrilling tale indeed, Lady Izabelle. I wish you the best of luck in finding your brother, safe and well. I will gladly assist you in your quest if there is something I can help you with." With those words the majestic sight opened before them; the golden roofs of Golden Farrow shone brightly under the sun when the large escort finally reached its outskirts. "We have arrived! This has been a very interesting yourney, m'Lady. I look forward to riding together with you in battles soon enough, and may the Elements guide and guard the highborn of Caerwyn!" Arthorius quickly dispatched his standard bearer towards the city gates to announce their arrival.
