Sven is actually an adoptee into the Björn family, not born to it like his fellow Knights Leif and Nils. Taken in when he was found wandering in the forests of Alaise near the Björn family home at the age of 7, Sven had no memory of his past life. From his accent, he hails from Eston and it is presumed that his family were all killed by the monsters or undead that periodically crop up in the region. A polite, reasonably happy child, Sven nonetheless displayed many odd behaviours growing up. Primary among these was an odd sense of detachment in the face of danger, which cropped up when he and his adopted sister of Svea were beset by Badgers when playing near a stream when he was 12 years old. When they attacked, instead of panicking like any other child would have done, Sven simply commanded his sister to swim the stream while he single handedly killed all three badgers with his bare hands.

Always gifted with numbers, Sven was buttered up to become a trader in the Family's business at an early age. As such, it was something of a shock when Sven decided that, only months after his cousins Nils and Leif left, that he too would join them in the ranks of Knights of the Realm. To further this end, he travelled to Cagil where he was taken on by the Duke and given a parcel of land to call his own. Immediately after, he was called to battle with the rest of Pax Cagila and made a name for himself in the battle of Corniel where he and his men stormed the palisades earning him great respect of his men.

After much waiting in Tarasac Sven, the majority of the Pax and the Eaglin Eagles, as well as allies from Darka stormed the fortifications in Nazgorn. Though Sven's unit took grievous casualties, the Allies nonetheless emerged victorious, crushing the local defenders and burning the Falasani palisades to the ground! However, it was not long before the Falasani brought in their army to dislodge the Cagilans, and in the ensuing battle which took place over several days, Sven and most of his unit were struck down while taking many more of their enemy to the graves with them. By the time the Falasani were defeated once again, only Nils and his captain remained alive, but wounded.
