Roleplay from Philip
Gazing around the room at the various stunned faces Philip slowly began to clap as he shook off the last vestiges of his mask and got control of his temper, “Oh well done Mr. Darby, you managed to trick me into revealing myself. Yes, you knew it had been such a long time since I’d taken my; ‘medicine’. Well done, well done indeed.” Throwing his hands up in the air Philip sighed, “Well I guess I’d better surrender and go with you, because you obviously brought an entire army to back you up… oh what’s this? You didn’t? Oh really! In that case you’re a fool and don’t stand a chance.”

Walking over to the fireplace Philip watched the flames, “My name is Philippe de Montnab, I am a Black Knight and doubtlessly everything else you’ve heard is true Tomaas.”

Tomaas raises an eyebrow, “Everything? Even the genocide?”

Philip sneers, “Of course, they had something I wanted and just wouldn’t let go. Well the first few wouldn’t, but I decided to finish the rest off to make an example of them.”

Tomaas quickly ran through what he’d been told and muttered under his breath, “Any minute now….come on…” Swallowing hard due to his dry throat Tomaas asked, “Why take the name Unti?”

“Unti is an old name, a powerful name, well it was… until that weakling Antonio was born and destroyed the ways of the ruling class. I decided to restore the old name to some semi balance of glory before putting an end to the crippled house.”

“A little glory? You brought only blood to the name.”

“So? All that, ‘helping people’ and their ‘virtues’ destroyed their heritage; a true Unti of the old style would make sure to kill fifty men a day just to keep in good form. I was doing their ancestors a favour, reviving the Anti-Virtues in their name.”

“Not to mention it hurt the Unti reputation….”

“That too. What fun that was.”

“So you came to Avamar to destroy them and the Unti name…”

“Oh no…. no, no… I came here to find Evylears, the tyrant that cast out my ‘brother’ Antonio from W. Sirion. Men of such petty cruelty would have been useful in my plan, but when I arrived I found Avamar and the Black Hand instead. A most irritating turn of events but it had a silver lining, Avamar was the only land not under the grip of the Deciever Jarbosh. You see though I didn’t know it at the time, but Jarbosh would prove to be my biggest threat to world domination.”

“Jarbosh is dead,” replied Tomaas matter of fact, “My brother and I saw to that.”

“Really? Then I thank you, now there’s nothing that can stop me. Anyway, I wanted Avamar to grow, to prosper, to become a great empire so that I could use them to reclaim my throne form that weakling Antonio. Of course then you showed up, and here we are; or more importantly, here you were.”

Roleplay from Tomaas
All in one motion, Philippe reaches for his fork and sends it flying toward Tomaas's head, but Tomaas was waiting for his opponent's attack and easily dodged the projectile. Rolling to the nearest table, he steals a startled guest's knife and return's Philippe's favor, and breaks into a run toward the head table.

Philippe, turns slightly as the knife brushes past his shoulder to stick firmly in the back of his chair. "Is that the best you have to offer? How predictable." He grabs his own knife in preparation of a fight, and as Tomaas nears, sends the table flying toward his face.

Luckily, Tomaas had planned to trip Philippe, not attack him head on, and slid beneath the flying table. But Philippe was to stable too be so easily knocked off his feet and quickly countered with a kick of his own.

Not quite quick enough, Tomaas gets clipped and is sent spinning away. Rolling to his feet, he tries to press the attack once more. But Philippe easily turns his attack away, and starts on the offensive. After a few narrow misses, it is all Tomaas can do to keep from being hit. Though slower, Philippe is obviously the better swordsman, even with just a table dagger.

But Philippe was slowing down; it seemed as if he would soon run out of steam, and then it happened, he left an opening in his side. Taking quick advantage of this, Tomaas thrust toward the hole in Philippe's guard. Alas this was all part of Philippe's plan. The sword went flying, leaving Philippe to drive his other fist into a startled Tomaas' stomach, and send him sprawling after it.

“You were a fool to challenge me, whelp,” Philippe sneers.
