Roleplay from Evangeline

Evangeline walks through the cool, dark forest towards the spot she knows he will be. As she moves into the shady clearing, she can see him sitting - his back to her, cross-legged, his sword laying by his side. Although she is light footed she knows he already senses her there.

Gulping down nerves she travels the short distance remaining and sits down beside him. He raises his face to look at her, his dark, piercing eyes capturing her gaze, sparkling with a hint of humour behind his serious facade.

They begin to eat, neither one talking. They are always talking, the silence had it's own enchantment. Evangeline slowly puts down her food and tentatively reaches out her hand to touch his face. Her fingers lightly brush his scarred cheeks and time seems to slow down.

A low grumbling interrupts the moment and they look up to see a bear standing on its hind legs, teeth barred.

Evangeline awakes with a start, realising she is still in the healers tent in Bescanon. A smile drifts momentarily across her face as she remembers her dream, then realising who she has dreamt about her cheeks begin to flush red. Rolling over, she clutches her blankets and tries to force herself back to sleep to the rhythmic snoring of Magnus and Karlson in the cots beside her.
