Rowan's Riders

Brief Introduction

Welcome everyone to the bulletin of the elite Cavalry group in Minas Ithil, the home of heroes. In honor of its first commander, the group is named "Rowan's Riders", formally referred to as the Mounted Knights of Minas Ithil.

Still in it's early phases, there are a number of guidelines to be followed. Remember, this is an honor, not a duty, so if you feel under pressure or unwelcome, you are invited to leave at any time. We're all
brothers and sisters on horseback, and I personally want you to feel like one.

As with any elite group, we have an banner to distinguish us from the rest of the run-of-the-mill soldiers.

Battle Readiness

As with any Elite Group, Rowan's Riders observe a certain standard to ensure our own personal units are battle-ready and above the run-of-the-mill average unit. Quality over quantity. Cavalry are indeed expensive to hire, and should not be treated as average soldiers. That is a good way to waste our proud realm's hard-earned tax gold. As a general rule, a minimum unit of Cavalry is 20 men, where the maximum should fall at about 40, if normal tax gold is your only source of income.

• 20 Cavalry - A Patrol
• 25 Cavalry - A Regiment
• 30 Cavalry - A Platoon
• 35 Cavalry - A Battalion
• 40 Cavalry - A Legion

Following is the minimum requirements for battle, the minimum. Followed then by what one should be striving for as part of our Elite Knights.

• A Patrol(20) at 300 CS
  • A Patrol at 350 CS

• A Regiment(25)at 375 CS
  • A Regiment(25)at 400 CS

• A Platoon(30) at 450 CS
  • A Platoon at 500 CS

• A Battalion(35) at 525 CS
  • A Battalion(35) at 600 CS

• A Legion(40) at 600 CS
  • A Legion at 700 CS

These are the recommended amount of Paraphernalia per unit, though I do encourage the purchase of extra banners.
