Hernfelk and his men entered the huge temple of the Church of Ibladesh. The inside was just as messy as the outside. The lower walls were covered in blood, and stained glass windows of the temple were mostly shattered. Bodies of dead priests were piled on the place where priests gave sermons to people.

Hernfelk-"Damn it. This place is worse than the streets."

Nick-"Sorry Sir. I did not expect something this horrible happened inside of the temple."

Hernfelk-"Sigh. Look at what you've done, Nick. You made my men puke."

When Nick turned around to check on the men, some of them were holding mouth with their hands trying to stop themselves from throwing up. One of them looked very pale even.

Pale Soldier-"Wooooagh!"

When the pale looking soldier finally puked, Hernfelk decided to leave the temple before others started to throw up as well.

After visiting the temple of the church, Hernfelk and his men left once the great capital of the greatest theocracy. The soldier who got sick in the temple died from choking on his own vomit and they buried him in the garden of the ducal palace - could have been a very nice place to be buried if the garden was not in such a mess (burnt trees and more dead bodies).

Nick-"Sir, a messenger just came to give us a new order."

Hernfelk-"Hope that will get us out of this hell hole."

Nick-"We are ordered to gather in Oc Lu Pesh to continue destroying what is left of Ibladesh, Sir."

Hernfelk-"Sigh. Order the men. We will go to Oc Lu Pesh."

Nick-"Are you okay, Sir?"

Hernfelk-"Yeah. Just tired. Let's just get out of this city."

As Hernfelk and his men arrived in Oc Lu Pesh, they could see nothing but ruins again. The armies of Perdan and Caligus destroyed anything that once belonged to the theocracy of Ibladesh.

Hernfelk-"I can already smell the burning flesh of peasants from here"

Nick-"The armies probably burned dead peasants to stop any chance of disease, Sir. Also it is quicker than burying them. They could have left just the bodies if they were lazy."

Hernfelk-"If the armies didn't kill them in the first place, we wouldn't be smelling them like this. Sigh. Only way to get rid of fanatics through sword huh."

When they arrived near the forest of Oc Lu Pesh, more horrific sights appeared. Dead naked women were tied to trees, most of them were singed with the trees they were tied to. Hernfelk couldn't stop himself from frowning.

Nick-"Probably men from Caligus did this to strike fear into the hearts of the fanatics of the Church, Sir."

Hernfelk-"Burn them properly. The sight sickens me."

Nick-"Men, you heard him."

While burning the bodies of dead women, a messenger from the army came to see Hernfelk and Nick. The messenger quickly delivered the message and once he got a letter from Hernfelk, he returned to the army field camp.

Hernfelk-"Pillage and maraud? Is this a joke? There is nothing to pillage here. What am I suppose to pillage? rubble? dead bodies?"

Nick-"Well Sir, why don't we prepare for battle instead of pillaging poor peasants? According to this report, we will probably face a horde of dead peasants by morning."

Hernfelk-"Just great. We are ordered to rob filthy peasants instead of chasing the viscount of Oc Lu Pesh. Now we have to put some walking corpses down too? It is just getting better and better. I wonder what orders we will be receiving next? If I get another pathetic order like this I am returning to Perdan."

Nick-"Sir. I do not think that is wise. General and Marshal won't let that sly. You cannot maintain an army without discipline and they will not hesitate to punish you harshly."

Hernfelk-"Fine. We will stay but I am done looting."

Nick-"Let's hope your marshal won't find it out."

When Hernfelk and his men heard the sound of horn, Hernfelk quickly ordered a charge attack against angry peasants. To the left side of him, a horde of undead peasnats were charging with him. It was absurd to be charging against unarmed peasants - he did not consider farming tools as weapons - but to attack with undead peasants was unbelievable.

Hernfelk-"Nick! What is going on! Shouldn't we be crushing the foul undead? Why are we charging with them?"

Nick-"I do not know Sir but you might want to bite your teeth before you bite your tongue."

Hernfelk-"Damn it, Nick! I am sick of this! We are heading back after thi- argh!"

Nick-"Told you, Sir. Let's just charge for now."

Luckily for Hernfelk, peasants were killed by the undead before Hernfelk even got near them. After the battle, Hernfelk ordered his men to pack their belongings in order to head back. Nick tried to stop his lord, but he was ignored.

Hernfelk met a messenger on his way back to Perdan. The messenger seemed puzzled by Hernfelk as he was already packed to leave.

Messenger-"Sir Hernfelk, the marshal has ordered everyone to return to Ibladesh. We will be tearing down the great temple there."

Hernfelk-"Hmm. Tell the marshal I am don-"

Nick-"Tell him we are on our way! Now, go."

Nick pushed the messenger's back to prevent Hernfelk from saying another word to the man. The messenger quickly got on his horse to deliver the order to other nobles.

Nick-"Sir, you need to calm down. We have a new order. It isn't a looting order so you shouldn't try to disobey it. Think about your cousins. They decided not to loot but still followed movement orders. You should try to do the same."

Hernfelk and his men were sitting around the great temple of the Church of Ibladesh as the army looted anything they could find in the city. Soldiers were busy setting houses on fire and killing peasants. Hernfelk ordered his men not to move an inch from the church.

Hernfelk-"Do not unpack yet. We are not camping in front of the church filled with corpses. It is way too dangerous."

Nick-"Are you worried about undead, Sir? I think we will be fine if we just burn them. Those men from Caligus got lazy on burning dead bodies in Oc Lu Pesh but we won't make the same mistake."

Hernfelk-"It would be better to burn the entire church along with the dead bodies."

Nick-"I do not think we have the means to burn a building this big, Sir. Once we take the city, the army will have enough men to bring down the church. All we can do is wait."

Hernfelk-"Sigh. What a pathetic way to start my career. Damn it."

Nick-"Well it is better than being left out of this war isn't it?"

Hernfelk-"Are you kidding me? My epic will start with being a looter of Ibladesh. Idiots will write about how I looted the riches of the white city even though I touched nothing of this city."

Nick-"Or you can leave out the details and just say you participated in the great war against Ibladesh."

Hernfelk and his men watched a group of Perdanese cavalries approach toward the church. A young knight rode straightly toward Hernfelk.

Hernfelk-"Do you recognize him, Nick?"

Nick-"Sir. I haven't met any noble in person. I've only seen Duke Nicoli as he returned to his room in Eldoret. But I do recognize that emblem. He must be a member of Enstance family."

As Hernfelk was about to ask another question to Nick, the knight introduced himself. 'Henrik Enstance' was his name and he was staring at Nick.

Nick-"Hello, Sir Henrik. Sir Henfelk Lapallanch leads this cavalry unit."

Hernfelk-"Yes. I am Hernfelk Lapallanch. Nice to meet someone as young as me in the middle of this corpse filled city."

Hernfelk stared at Nick for answers. Nick nodded slowly while thinking about Sir Henrik's question.

Nick-"The best place will be the ducal palace but the place is taken by the higher ups. This church is just as good but it is full of corpses. We've been clearing corpses from the church but it will take hours before we can clear the place."

Hernfelk-"Why don't you help us, Sir Henrik. The church is big enough to even let our horses in."

"I have a bottle or two. Nick get a bottle from my horse."

Nick returned with a bottle of wine in his hands. Nick passed the wine to Hernfelk with a wooden cup.

"Don't have a fancy wine glass sadly. Let's see. Oh. I got this from my cousin Zakilevo. It is only a two year old wine but apparently elves brewed it. Never tried a wine brewed by pointy ears so can't guarantee the taste."

Hernfelk opened the bottle and poured the content into the wooden cup and handed it to Sir Henrik.

As Henrik walked towards his horse, Hernfelk turned his gaze on the streets around the church. That was when he saw a man bearing a familiar crest on his chest. Hernfelk tabbed Nick's shoulder to ask him about the crest.

Hernfelk-"Nick, Nick. Look at that man. Look at his chest. Can you tell where that man is from?"

Nick-"That is the crest of the ount of Lorient, Sir. He must be one of your liege Count Khodym Laegan's men."

Hernfelk-"He is in Ibladesh?"

Nick-"It seems so, Sir."

Hernfelk-"Hmm. Should I visit him now? I was going to visit him in Lorient actually."

Nick-"I think you should, Sir. You can leave the cleaning job to the men."

Hernfelk-"Alright. I will visit my liege. Sir Henrik. I just found one of my liege's men. I am going to go visit him right now. I will leave my men with you. If something happens, send me a messenger."

Hernfelk and Nick arrived in the ducal palace where most lords and other people in the upper hierarchy have set their tents. The palace was heavily guarded by well trained soldiers under the general's command. When Hernfelk and Nick approached the guards, one of them stepped forward to greet them.

Guard-"Hello, Sir. You are approaching the ducal palace. Please specify your reason for visiting the palace."

Hernfelk-"Nick. Tell the man what he wants to know."

Nick-"Ahem. This is Sir Hernfelk Lapallanch of Lari-"

Hernfelk-"Lorient. Not Lari."

Nick-"... Lorient. Thank you Sir. He is here to visit Count Khodym of Lorient."

Guard-"Ah. You are one of Count Khodym's knights. I will send someone to let the count know you are here to visit him. Why don't you wait inside, Sir? Jozel, yes you. Come here."

Jozel the soldier-"Captain! Jozel Wheatfield reporting for duty!"

Guard-"Show Sir Hernfelk his way to the guest room."

Jozel the soldier-"Yes, Captain. Sir. Follow me please."

Hernfelk and Nick returned to the church after spending a night in the ducal palace. He spent some awkward time in the ducal palace as he did not get to meet his liege. Guards were puzzled by the whereabout of Count Khodym as well.

Hernfelk-"That was bloody awkward. What the hell was that?"

Nick-"It seems the city is just too big for guards to find the count, Sir."

Hernfelk-"Damn it. It felt pretty awkward to spend the night in the ducal palace. I mean everyone was dead quiet."

Nick-"Well the ducal palace was where the general and marshals were staying so things were more strict."

Hernfelk-"I wonder if Sir Henrik and my men finished cleaning the church. I am not staying in the ducal palace ever."

Nick-"I doubt they will let you stay for another night, Sir."
