Drey's weakness is an over-indulgence in hunting and in all leisure away from civilized company. He has shirked social duties from an early age, much to the shagrin of his Uncle John. In fact his idleness delayed his entering the King's service as a soldier until half of his twenties were over. Indeed, his recruitment of an archery unit and a penchant for taking local entertainments with his men suggest he is not yet over his youthful foibles.
