Fernando is the Patriarch of the Fowl Family.  He is the one who runs the home estate in Osaliel. Never one to venture far from home, he has never been beyond the borders of Soliferum.  He has a fierce devotion to the ways of the warrior and duty.  Ironically, only one of these found its way into each of his sons.  Hector asborbing the value of duty and Jorge being drawn to the way of the warrior.

Fernando is ever the realist.  He will never do anything he deems pointless.  His third son, Artemis, had the misfortune of continually lacking the fortitude of his older brothers.  From this issue, Fernando never truly took to him.  However, as his son, Fernando would never deny Artemis a necessity.

Fernando's main goal in life is to secure the Fowl Family name and anchor it in history.  He is constantly looking to improve the status of the family mansion.  Currently, he is arranging a marriage with a neighbor to gain land, including a well fitted outpost on the other side of a wood.
