What does that mean? Even though all the dukes said no, and the Kargnch said no, they will go to war. Lord 1 must vote yes because his knights say so. Lord 2, though he wants to, must vote no because his knights say so. Lords 3 and 4 must vote yes because their knights say so. 3 lords of Duke 1 say yes, so he must vote yes as well; therefore the motion is passed!

This is because a bunch of knights said lets go to war. Because of the way lord (and duke) votes can swing, knights suddenly find themselves with a lot of power.

Revision as of 04:34, 15 March 2008

This realm doesn't exist, may never exist, but oh god I hope it does some day :o

This is where I throw down ideas so I don't forget.

New terms i made up for this

saan-- derived from Torsaan, means "judge"

Bascially...

This would be a serious hardcore religious realm for The Word. It would be based around some holy place. I know the pains of being a noble who has no power and just sits around all day. Thusly....

Ze Guvernmenté

Nobles are nobles, right? So we all get a say in things...

Ruler: Kargnchha--Obviously. He would be able to tell ANY noble "take off your pants and run around" and they would have to. He will be revered... as a GOD! Should be a duke.
General: Kargnch--Quite obviously as well. Can tell anyone BUT the Kargnchha to do whatever he wants. But if the Kargnchha says something, it is done. No doubts. Should also be a duke.
Judge: Saan-ib--He who judges, This will be some variety of high priest. Won't do much without Kargnch(ha)'s approval. A duke is one is available.
Banker: S'sknbasnanhahaib--He who... elite holy woods? Basically money counter for nobles. Peasants use different money. A duke is one is available.
Dukes: Lots of power, loyal to the Kargnchha.
Lords: Not as much power. Loyal to the Kargnchha by faith.
Knights: Not as much power. Own small fiefs. Loyal to Kargnchha by faith. They should be watched for treason.
Unaligned Nobles: OMGWTFBBQ!? lrn2/oath/ they get absolutely no say and should be laughed at.
Adventurers: Test your new sword on them! Be careful you don't muck up your nice armour with their brains.

New ruler

Alright. Kargnchha is a nice guy. Recognizes everyone is a noble (besides him, who is a god). Thus he "lets" people vote in the next Kargnchha. There is a lineage though, he must name a successor who should be voted in. Result? Intrigue! Nobles ban together and vote a new kargnchha in, kargnchha-to-be is miffed, gets Kargnch and Saan-ib to start a rebellion. Saan-ib got irked too much by former Kargnchha? Now he won't help! Kargnchha-to-be gets pissed, calls on a serious rebellion. Lots of fun. Kargnchha-to-be SHOULD win (he is, afterall, a god) and a LOT of people get executed for being heretical traitorous nonbelievers. Including that conniving Saan-ib. Kargnchha-to-be doesn't win? He wasn't a true god. The Kargnchha is ALWAYS a god. The true Kargnchha merely took his rightful place >.>

Lets decide things

Alright. Kargnchha is a nice guy. Thus all decisions are voted on! One catch, votes are weighted...

Kargnchha--49% In other words, the realm is his bitch.
Kargnch--30% He and the Kargnchha should be good buddies.
Duke--variable... let's say the realm has 4 duchies, thus, 4% each. Not really that powerful.
Lord-- 4 regions per duchy, 0.25% of a vote. Heh heh.
Knights-- 3 knights per region (average) +4 for each city; 1/64% of a vote. Hmmmm....

Now, seems mighty unfair, eh?

But there's more! 2/3 of a region's knights vote opposite of lord, lord must vote with them. 3/4 regions in a duchy vote opposite of duke, duke must vote with them. See where I'm going? Lots of favours will be going around. You get this guy to vote with us, etc.

For example...

Should we invade Keplerstan:

Kargnchha--Yes
Kargnch--No
Duke 1-- No
  Lord 1-- No
   Knights-- Yes No Yes(!!!)
  Lord 2-- Yes
   Knights-- No No Yes
  Lord 3-- No
   Knights-- Yes Yes Yes
  Lord 4-- No
   Knights-- No Yes Yes
Duke 2-- No
(everyone is no)
Duke 3-- No
(everyone is no)
Duke 4-- No
(everyone is no)

What does that mean? Even though all the dukes said no, and the Kargnch said no, they will go to war. Lord 1 must vote yes because his knights say so. Lord 2, though he wants to, must vote no because his knights say so. Lords 3 and 4 must vote yes because their knights say so. 3 lords of Duke 1 say yes, so he must vote yes as well; therefore the motion is passed!

49 + 4 + 1/64 + 1/64 + 0.25 + 1/64 + 1/64 + 1/64 + 1/64 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 1/64 + 1/64=53.875% in "favour"!

This is because a bunch of knights said lets go to war. Because of the way lord (and duke) votes can swing, knights suddenly find themselves with a lot of power.
