Places of Note in Werdham
A pleasent, warm and fertile land, the Werdham Basin is a River Plain, and home to a stout, anglo-germanic folk that have few worries in life, and a fierce loyalty to the realm that has been theirs since time immemorial.
Werdenberg
Capital of the Region, Werdenberg is home to roughly 3000 of the folk of Werdham, and is a pleasent, old worlde town with old gothic architecture and stout renaissance cottages and townhouses for the merchants and landlords of the region.
It is also the location of the Werdenschlosse, where the Count resides and holds court. The Werdenschlosse is also the garrison for the 5th Sturmknechts millita, who are well trained men equipped with the large double handed swords that characterize Sturmknecht Infantry and Special Forces.
Werdendorf
second largest town, the Werdendorf has a population of around 500, and is the confluence point for all the smaller villages scattered around the area, and is in the very middle of Werdham.
its folk are largely farmers and craftsmen, and some of the finest swordsmiths in the land- it is they who make the sturmknecht's blades and armour, and is also the site of their Training Grounds.
Hanging Hill
a strange hamlet in the southwest of Werdham, on the road to Suville, Hanging Hill has a shifty, distrustful populace of around 200, and is built around the old Gibbet Hill, where criminals were and sometimes still are brought to be hung or put in the gibbets.
a strange, fey place haunted by the ghosts of the village's past and of the souls of executed criminals. or so they say.
