Manual

How do we start the new manual? What kind of structure should it have?

Island News

The "Atamara Times" is the mother of them all, but how do we kickstart such a thing for other islands as well?

Old Tiki Content

There is a lot of content in the tiki, the old wiki that we had in use for a long time. Much of that content is nonsense, outdated, or just personal stuff that whoever treasures should move over himself. However, there are also some really good and well-researched articles, that should be saved, updated and corrected, and included in this new site.

Accuracy

On the Region page, there was a mention that there is some inaccurate information there. This brings up a big issue: accuracy and fact-checking. Personally, I prefer to simply say nothing about a subject than to potentially mislead people. On the other hand, encouraging superstitions might make the game more fun for a lot of people -- certainly more fun than just laying bare the mechanics.

Thoughts? --Dolohov 26 July 2005 18:20 (CEST)

My opinion is when a fact is unproven it should be written in a vague way. " There is rummour that he number of caracter in your unit name influence is bar preference". That way we send ser on some tracks, but do not garante the fact it's rigth, or not.

The problem is that we're also intentionally vague when hinting at a real feature which we don't just want to spell out. Perhaps we ought to have a page just for unconfirmed rumors. --John 17 August 2005 17:08 (CEST)
I have a very clear position on this: The manual should not contain any false information. Nothing in the manual should contradict how the game actually works. I don't think we should contain rumours in the manual itself. We can (and should) point out where things are unknown, subject to speculation, or where several theories exist, and then point to their respective pages. --Tom 30 August 2005 19:29 (CEST)

Introduction

Style and content for the introduction - IMHO we should seperate out the mechanics and point to (or include) the tutorials instead. --Tom 1 August 2005 11:42 (CEST)

What's the best way to point to it? Should we pepper the introduction with links, or should we have a list of "See Also" pages at the bottom? --Dolohov 2 August 2005 02:44 (CEST)

Dev Center move?

Was there any plan to move the functions of the Dev Center from the old wiki over to this one, so that people can contribute ideas on new features, etc? It would likely be much easier to manage on MediaWiki, but with the infrequent updates on the Dev Center in the old one, is it really worth it, and have this function more or less moved to the mailing list? DorianGray 31 August 2005 12:16 (CEST)

I think it would be a much better Idea to keep this on the mailing list. -- Nicholas September 2, 2005 06:59 (CEST)

Editing Pages

Not so much "content", per se, but I'm not sure where to put it. Is there any way to disable the "Save Page" button until the user has previewed the page once? That would (hopefully) cut down on a lot of the multiple-edit clutter on the recent changes page. --John 2 September 2005 14:50 (CEST)
